Of course, this is for when the semester ends, but which would be the better purchase? Splinter Cell looks great, but I really enjoyed Timesplitters 2.

I don't know I haven't tried any of those but I heard that Timesplitters 2 was good. So I voted for Timesplitters3. Sprinter Cell it just... I don't know looks weird.

I'd go with TimeSplitters 3. The new Splinter Cell is going to be great, but it's very similar to the first two (or so I've heard). TimeSplitters, though, has a bunch of new stuff that improves on the awesome TS2.

I'll say TS3 as well. I have the first Splinter Cell, and I never liked it that much. The MGS series is tons more fun if you ask me.

I will say this. If you liked the first Splinter Cell game then you should get Chaos Theory. The Splinter Cell series has had an excellent evolution, because each game has been better than the previous. If you weren't really into the first Splinter Cell, this probably wont change your mind, and you should go with Timesplitters: Future Perfect.

I say go with Timesplitters, as many know, it is by the exact team of the creators of the 'real' Goldeneye. Add that to the fact that I really don't like Splinter Cell..it does feel a bit MGS ripoffish, but not nearly as well done.

From what I've heard, TS3 while a very good game is also very buggy. At least on the Gamecube build.
Splinter Cell: CT on the Xbox is just amazing, it's improved so much from the first two games in the series. The Gamecube build of it doesn't have online of course, but I've heard that the visuals still look up to par.
If you want multiplayer more, pick TS3.
If you want singleplayer more, pick Splinter Cell.

Time Splitters. I've never been keen on the Splinter Cell craze that has gripped the Xbox (not so much the GCN and PS2). It's Tom Clancy everything on the 'box, and I'm sick of it.

Tom Clancy or EA. Both make my stomach ache. ANyway I voted SC: CT, because Gamecube isn't online and I heard TS' main focus is multiplsyer....

See, I personally think Splinter Cell blew MGS right out of the water, and Timesplitters 2 was much more appealing to me than, say, Halo. I heard about the bugginess of Timesplitters 3 on GameCube, and it turned me off a little bit. On the other hand, I could use another FPS.
I'm probably going to get them both. I figure TS3 will drop in price sooner than Splinter Cell, so I'll probably get Splinter Cell first.

MGS and Splinter Cell are both very different types of game. Though they both qualify as stealth action, Splinter Cell focuses much more on stealth, while MGS focuses on action. I personally would take the MGS series any day, the Splinter Cell games have mediocre plots and the gameplay is too slow for me.

Yeah and in Sprinter Cell, I just saw an advirtisment on it and it looked like the graphics were bad. TS3 would be the best I think.

The plots are confusing as anything. MGS3 was pretty straightforward, but MGS2 made your head explode, reassembled it, then blew it up again. The other reason I do prefer MGS is because all of the possible ways the AI can react in different situations..now I have only played the first Splinter Cell, so they may have improved this, but enemy actions seemed rather straightforward, and if they spotted you, they would try to take you on their own as opposed to calling for backup and different tactics to outnumber you.
