Neither. Everytime, I get the motivation to do it for like an hour, then when I catch anew pokemon that looks cool, I try to raise it and forget all about the "cath them all" lol.

Usally it takes me about 24 hours to 36 hours to beat any Pokemon game. In the end I have a about 50 pokemon and about 10 or so lvl 70 or higher.

I only catch the Poke'mon that look cool while I'm still in the main story of a game then I try to catch them all after the main game ends (except for certain one-time Poke'mon).

If i ever get determined to catch a certain pokemon, then I become the most stubborn person ever. I don't go anywhere until I catch that pokemon. Once it took me like 2 days to catch Latios on Ruby.

The only normal Poke'mon that I stood around in an area before for a long period of time was Ralts. XD

Well one of the only Poke'mon I liked in Rub/saphire was Gradevoir. It made want to play the game. As well as Salamence, Flygon and Blaziken.

I liked the newer pokemon then the old ones, for some weird reason.
