And when a friend does that, he's not your friend anymore. Strangely I didn't get after him, but we kinda stopped hanging out after that. I think it's cuz he moved.

I've beaten Pokemon Silver before... had a pretty ho-hum ending in my opinion. But yeah, that GBColor version of MGS surprised me by being a smidge below the original game's greatness, proving that it's entirely possible for a HUGE game to be put onto a teensy screen. Too bad Metal Gear Ac!d didn't follow that up. You all know I'm a pokemon fan, but I'll be honest. Every pokemon game in the series had a so called ho-hum ending, IMO. I mean, come on, does anyone expect epic stories to save the world or anything like that from pokemon? Puhllllease.

OK, uh, according to the story, you're supposed to be stopping Team Rocket (Or whoever's the bad guy) before they take over the world with their illegally supercharged Pokemon. I think I'd like a bit better ending after taking them down, thank you.

But it's not on an epic scale such as a game like Final Fantasy or whatever.
Poke'mons's "saving the world" story. You are a kid. You collect Poke'mon. Light hearted fun throughout. You find Team Rocket. You beat Team Rocket with Poke'mon... yea... that's about how deep that it is.

In truth, you really can't have a climatic ending in pokemon because your main character isn't developed in character. ll he/she is is a young pokemon trainer going around catching and training pokemon. I mean, how are you meant to give a climax to a competely silent character who nobody in the world can tell how he/she speaks, what he/she likes etc. You just can't make an epic ending with a character like that. See, even in FFI, because they didn't develop the character of the playable charcters, all they did for an ending was a long and boring description of what happened, but from II onwards where the main character started to speak and have personality, they managed to use that to make some decent endings. But as I said before, i'm a great pokemon fan, so I'm not trying to put down Pokemon or anything. And personally, i prefer it to be that light-hearted, not too deep storyline kind of game.

You know, Crono and Serge were silent in the Chrono games, but they had climactic endings. Don't give me that. But yeah, PKMN was more lighthearted and such. But that doesn't mean "light-hearted" and "boring ending" have to be synonimous.

But that doesn't mean "light-hearted" and "boring ending" have to be synonimous. OK, but the difference is, in pokemon, even though you have a main character going around defeating bad guys and such, the main focus is on the pokemon themselves. In the chrono games or whatever, the main characters fight. The main charactersgo around and end up saving the world. they develop the main character. In pokemon, the main character is there just so the whole point of catching pokemon and training them makes sense. I mean, it'll be a whole new game if the pokemon decided to stop team rocket themselves and went on a great journey. then, you could have an awesome climatic finale. And another thing: defeating team rocket or equivalent was NEVER the ultimate goal in the pokemon series, at least in the mainstream GB/GBA ones. Just something the main character gets caught up during his/her journey. And most importantly, pokemon is generally aimed for kids. How many kid-based games have great seamless storylines and a gigntic finale to go with it? well, I shall stop my argument here. That's why i think it will be just weird if pokemon tries to go on a grand scale. They kinda did in the 2 GCN releases (Colosseum and XD), and I just couldn't take them seriously. Like that Bomberman game that apparently being released on Xbox. Traditionally it has been light-hearted with not too much depth. They're trying a whole new step. how many people were able to take it seriously?

Using this scientific chart (XD), I have owned/someone in my family has owned...
All the normal gameboys. A gameboy colour. 1 GBA, the original.
My Dad had the brick - uh, I mean, Gameboy. Me and my sister shared the pocket; Dad got a transluscent Colour. I got a GBA for Christmas one year, and I got a DS this year. So, I'm winning! =D
GBColour games... uhh... Catz? XD Seriously. I was way more into the Advance.

There were very few games that had good stories for the GBA.

Have to agree. Not many RPG's, and the few that there were had kinda crappy storylines.
There were a few good ones, though.
