I also remember SSB.....wow, weeks and weeks of addiction. My cousin said that it was good, I had no idea what it was, so I just got it. What a purchase that was... Only weeks? I was hooked on if for months to years... Heck, for the first 6 months I owned my GCN, all I had was SSBM (which I played constantly)...

Well, weeks and weeks lol
After those weeks, I think that Paper Mario or another game came to my addiction

I don't really remember my first game that I was hooked on, but I was hooked on Paper Mario for 64. I played it for hours a day I couldn't stop playin' it.

Are you asking first game ever? Hmm, let's see...there was this system a while ago called the NES. I believe it had a game for it called Dragon Warrior. Yeah, that was an amazing game. I'd say it was either that, Spiritual Warfare (also a wonderful game!), or Super Mario Bros. 3. All were great, and I was hooked on all of them, at one point or another. As for "modern" games, GoldenEye 007, hands down.

As for "modern" games, GoldenEye 007, hands down. Super Mario 3 = One of the best games ever. My first addiction? Well, though I had played much better games while I was young, Pokemon Silver or Crystal were the games that truly hooked me into gaming. Crystal seemed so lifelike, there was DST, Moving Pokemon and finally the ability to choose between boy or girl. Though I'm a guy, I chose a girl just because I was never able to be a girl, and I was obsessed with being girl characters in videogames. Mmmmm, games of yesteryear, you have just GOT to love them ;D

Super Monkey Ball 2- the levels seemed non-stop, which i had no problem with. I played multiplayer with all my friends, especially Monkey Tennis

Hmm that's hard... It was most likely Super Mario 64 for the N64. I'm suprised nobody has said that.
