Well, we all, of course, understand the need for innovation in an industry such as ours right now. Of course, there is no gurantee that the truly innovative games will be mega hits. So I ask you: do these games get overlooked? I believe so, since Billy Hatcher, one of my favorite games of 2003, got nowhere near a Player's Choice Label, and while Viewtiful Joe did, it's sequel has not so far; only 10,000 units sold within a month, and that is counting PS2 as well . Which means on the GameCube, it did horrible, depsite the fact that I like it a lot better than the previous Joe. So, the question is there, and answer if you like. Thanks.

Of course innovation gets overlooked... graphics are all the majority of gamers ever think about. Seriously.. "don't judge a book by it's cover". A game may have awesome graphics, but it could have sucky gameplay, storyline, plot, ect. *huggles DS and Pokemon* Yeah... << OK.. so I didn't help much.. but whatever.. I can't type much right now without getting distracted.. I have a guy over and he's playing a game.. But yeah.. he even agrees... <<; Yeah.. innovation pwnz everything else.

I bought Viewtiful Joe on launch day in 2003. I think Eternal Darkness is an innovative, over-looked game. It's my personal favorite on the Cube.

Yes, innovation gets really overlooked. The Maddens and GTAs of the gaming world always overshadow innovative (and sometimes quirky) games like Feel The Magic. Sure, the tired-and-true games are fun, but innovation is always important.

When you're dealing with big budgets from EA and Take-Two, you have an uphill battle.

When you're dealing with big budgets from EA and Take-Two, you have an uphill battle. Yeah, that's part of the problem. Companies like EA have a ton of money to use on hyping up their games.

Um.... just because the DS sold well.. it doesn't mean jack squat. Many innovative games get overlooked. Hell.. even Pokemon gets overlooked because of it's "kiddy" reputation... yeah.. the storyline in general sucks.. but the gameplay is awesome.. and that's what some people just don't wanna accept.

I can not wait for a Pokemon game for the DS. I fone doesn't come out sometime soon I may just get FireRed/LeafGreen.
Yah, alot of stuff does get overlooked. Not once have I read/heard about "Vexx" for Gamecube, but I picked it up at Zellers for $20 bucks, and it is a very sweet 3D platformer. I guess it isn't really innovative, but still. ;D

No they are not overlooked because the DS sold well.... Sure, an innovative system sold well, but do truly innovative games sell?

How can you call rehashing the same Pokemon games innovative? Yes, the original WAS, but after that original concept is redone over and over, it's no longer an innovation, it's repetition.

Did I say a d@mn thing about it being INNOVATIVE? No. I said it's kiddy reputation[/u].. nothing about innovation. Next time.. read the post more clearly... <_<

Don't tell me to calm down when I am calm. And especially don't say "don't have a hissy fit". I hate when people say cr@p like that. Hissy fits are for 10yr olds... not 19yr olds. <_< When you say something like that to me.. you're testing my patience.
