*confused* That's the first time I read that Double Dash was online. It is through a 3rd party services. That's like saying Xbox Connect is Microsoft's online service though. Where were you when Nintendo announced online for both the DS this fall, and built-in wifi for the Revolution? People need to take into account that sports titles are all rated 'E'. How large of a percentage do sports games make up? 10%+ or so? It's not kids that are buying the sports games. Reason 1: third-party games don't sell on the Cube, unless a Nintendo character is involved. Case in point, Link was in Soul Calibur II, helping it sell more units for the Cube than both PS2 and Xbox. Reason 2: lack of online commitment from Nintendo. Some of the games released on PS2 and Xbox are best played online (SOCOM, Rainbow Six 3, Ghost Recon). Sure, some of them have come to the GCN (R63, GR), but they are sub-par versions of the same game that was on PS2 and Xbox. This ticks third-parties off. When it comes down to it though, for businesses, it's all about money. Investing in the GCN is not anywhere near as a guaranteed as PS2, when it comes to revenues.

Another reason GC gamers don't buy games that come out on other systems is that because of the mini-dvd, a lot of developers are just too lazy to make a good port and therefore the GC version comes out as a lame product.
