I heard the voice acting and compared it to Symphonia's... and the voice acting is the biggest gripe I had against Legendia. The others are pretty minor in comparison and in retrospect. Comparing the voices is like comparing the acting in a great movie to the acting in a second-grader play. Legendia is definitely inferior in that respect. Legendia is not "definitely inferior" in that respect. If anything ToL had better voice acting and a weaker main plot. I'm sorry, but most of the main characters this time around had solidly delivered lines. ToS's idealistic ramblings got really sappy, really fast. There are a few of those in ToL, but I think the tone is more accurate.

I prefer the voice acting of Resident Evil 1. Ah yes, who doesn't love lines like "You were almost a Jill sandwich!"

DAN: Uh, well, then the voice acting to Metal Gear Solid, Teen Titans, and Witch Hunter Robin were all sappy too, because that's where those voice actors were from. Look it up. Legendia didn't have "Mega Man 8" level of bad voice acting. In this day and age, terrible voicework like that is hard to come by. It had more of "Starfox 64" voicework... Not very good, very cheesy in fact, but nonetheless slightly amusing to a braindead degree. I prefer the voice acting of Resident Evil 1. Ah yes, who doesn't love lines like "You were almost a Jill sandwich!" You delivered that all wrong. "You were almost... ... ... ... ... ... ... A JILL SANDWICH!!"

I am the master of unlocking
Oh, and Pilgrim John...if you ever mention Metal Gear and bad voice acting in the same sentence again, you will lose any credibility that you ever had or ever will have. Sorry, but Metal Gear has the best voice acting of any franchise. Period.

Sorry, but Metal Gear has the best voice acting of any franchise. Period. You completely misunderstood me. You see, Dan and I were arguing over Symphonia's voice acting; he considered it "sappy", I found it fantastic. Then I SARCASTICALLY said that if he thought the acting in Symphonia was "sappy", then MGS's could be considered "sappy", too, since Cam Clarke did both Liquid Snake and Kratos (and Jennifer Hale did Sheena and...uh, what's-her-face). I never meant that MGS had bad voice acting, because it doesn't. Accusing Symphonia's acting of being "bad" or "sappy" is just the same as considering the acting to MGS "bad" or "sappy", since they had a few of the same actors (The best actors, in fact).

The problem was the script, not the actors themselves. I didn't mention the actors, I was talking about the lines themselves. You assumed a bit much, as usual.

The classic music is mostly from the older games, but just because they are classic and we know most of those game themes doesn't mean they are the best. I think that we all have a place in our hearts for them, for they bring back memories of the old classics. The music for the current generation isn't completely bad. It is more like to each their own. I love the music from the Final Fantasy series, Jet Set Radio, & Phantom Dust. Final Fantasy has it's orchastrated music. Jet Set Radio has it's techno, hip-hop, trip-hop, pop, and it's strange music. Phantom Dust has some classic songs in there and it's haunting tunes. If you listen closely in the bar you could hear Carmen playing(no vocals).

Well, if I had to limit myself to burning a CD compliation of just 15 video game songs, here's what they'd be: *Level 1 to Batman (NES) *Legendary Wizard from Tales of Legendia (PS2) *Bloody Tears (Transylvania during the daytime) from Castlevania 2 (NES) *Balloon Fight theme song (NES) *Tragic Prince from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (PSone) *The Devil's Machine (final boss theme) from Earthbound (SNES) *Ashley's Theme (Wario Ware Touched! DS) *Silent Chaos (Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, N64) *Cid Highwind's theme (Final Fantasy VII, PSone) *Scars of Time (Chrono Cross opening theme, PSone) *Super Mario Bros. theme (NES) *Pitch Black Intrusion (Soma's theme/Lost Village area) (Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow, DS) *Chrono Trigger battle theme (SNES) *Colossus battle theme (Shadow of the Colossus-PS2) *Vampire Killer (Castlevania, NES)
Proof that game music today is just as cool as yesterday's, as long as it doesn't resort to half-assing the soundtrack (i.e., using licensed tracks: Tony Hawk games are notorious for this).
