When the hot coffee mod was revealed, everyone was in shock and awe. I personally think it was over blown. I heard a good point once that if you can murder people and no one says anything, then whey is everyone in panic because of a sex mini game? If you have any comments on this matter, please send me a reply.

You are right, but this is old... a little hot coffee never hurt any one, except for this one old bag who got some hot coffee from Micky D's and got 3rd degree burns in the panooch (don't know if i spelled that right)

my point is that parents only care is the media cares. If parents know so much about what their child is doing, then why did no one say anything earlier. It's hypocrisy, and it also shows that most parents are stupid and can be easily manipulated by the media just so they can get a rating spike. It makes buying a game that has a little profanity, drug usage, or sexual themes a lot harder to purchase!

it is an old topic, but old news is meant to be used to make a point.

Personally, I don't think sexuality really NEEDS to be in a game. I mean, come on: It's in movies, on posters, all over magazines, and of course it's polluting the Internet. I don't need to be subjected to it in a game. However, it IS a good point to make that nobody really cared about all the violence. And why not? After all, one of GTA's developer's once stated, "It's like Pacman: you're Pacman, the people are the dots, and the cops are the ghosts." What the hell is that even supposed to mean? GTA is NOTHING like Pacman. Saying this makes GTA seem more "friendly" instead of the violent, perverted piece of trash that it is. All in all, however, I was always disturbed by the overdone violence factor... I mean, I accept violence in games. Heck, Mario jumping on a Goomba is violent. However, it's not like Mario grabbed a chainsaw and shoved it down the Goomba's mouth (Something that I've seen people do in GTA). There's "cartoon" violence, "plain" violence, and then there's "too much" violence. I'm not the type who faints at the sight of blood, but the things you can do to people in the GTA games just makes me cringe. But, in an "I want to kill everybody who looks at me the wrong way and make every chick I meet into a sleeper and not have to face any of the consequences" world like America (and many other countries) have become, this idiocy has become far too rampant.

when I make a point, you always find a way to make it better. I think you have hit another point also. That alot of games have gotten out of control, and i agree, in alot of ways it has. But as technology gets better, so will games, and what you can do with this new tech. I guess the saying is true, curiosity kills.

You know what's strange? Last week when I was at Wal-Mart... I saw a mother wanting to buy GTA: Vice City for her kid. That's good and all, being open-minded and crap.. but.... The kid was only 5-7yrs old! <_< Now.. that's gone too far. I like the fact that the mother was being open-minded... but at 5-7 friggin' years old? Sorry.. but f*ck that.
Me, I used to play the GTA games, because at the time, when I was still living with my dad, I needed something to get my anger out so I wouldn't get sent to jail from hurting him, or even possibly killing him. It helped.. but after I got into my place, I just got sick of GTA.. it was no fun anymore, and I didn't really need any games like that for my anger anymore. I don't get even nearly as angry now. I can still get pissed, but not the way I used to.
So yeah.. GTA does have it's benefits.. but I do agree.. it has gone a bit too far..

Have you guys even seen this video? It's pretty graphic and not something I would want...well, really anyone to see. I did a presentation on this in my Business Law class and to say the least, pretty much everyone was shocked (the guys pleasantly, but what do you expect?). Something you guys haven't touched on is how the girl is naked and the guy isn't. Sure, that's a purely business calculation (guys don't want to see a naked dude), but what message does that send? Women are a sex object? I think game developers need to grow up and be more responsible. I feel no sympathy for the industry when it comes to game regulation when things like this smut are released. www.ifilm.com/ifilmdetail/2673401?htv=12&htv=12

Wait, naked girls? Dude, aren't there site rules against posting things like that? But yeah: when an industry believes that selling sexuality along with their software, I lose all respect for them. Reducing women to mere objects is one of the ugliest things I can imagine.
