lets not get of topic and anyway i think that even if the game doesn't have music. you might still be able to listen to your music from your CD player, Ipod, or MP3.

Ofcourse the music in video games is important! It builds some kind of suspense in video games. Thats when the music is really needed. I can not play a video game that has no music.

In some areas in some games, though, silence is necessary to build suspense as well. Take Silent Hill and Resident Evil, for example: everything is quiet... TOO quiet. Then, when you least expect it--CRASH! A monster jumps in from the window and starts attacking you! See? Not having music in some areas can be suspenseful, too.

I know what you mean, but silence just freaks me out. Thats why I sometimes avoid parts like that on Resident Evil games. I like it better when it plays some silent eerie music and it gradually becomes louder then BAM! Some monster guy pops out and the music changes. Do you understand what I mean?

Yeah, but I like complete silence, and THEN scary crap happening. Know what I mean? It's scarier.

Or, you could make a DRASTIC movement, and put on a CD XD
I do that when I get bored. I remember once putting on the Shrek soundtrack CD to play Zelda. ><

LOL! I used to play alot of Cowboy Bebop when I played Crimson Skies, and alot of different crap while playing Halo2, cuz I ended up going against nothing but pre-pubescent little monsters who suck at cursing.

I can't stand silence in music! I always have some sort of music on. Usually when I hate the music in an RPG I switch my iTunes playlist to shuffle. I always get some random song.

Huh, System of a Down, that heavy metal band? I usually don't listen to them, but I have played some Skillet and The Black Mages while playing a game. I tell you though, "Alien Youth" and "Fingernails" really don't sound like songs you'd listen to while playing Billy Hatcher.
