Chapter 7
A light breeze whipped through the grass on the Fields of Hyrule. The sky was a piercing blue, with swarms of pure-white clouds forming, circling, and floating through the air.
The air felt so cool against the checks, and necks of our heroes, and heroine. But it was so quiet between the three. Apple fiddled with her hair, braiding nonsense into her green strands. Rumms' mind was riddled with nerves. Link, poor Link, was trying to stir up a conversation, but failing tragically.
Birds chirped, and flowers closed their petals, as the Golden-burning sun deceased into the darkness, that was bonded with the Silver-Moon. As the Moon rose, the creatures of the night came to celebrate. Sparks of light flew through the fields, as Fire Flies zipped through the mid-summer night's breeze. As Link looked back to Rumms and Apple, he noticed that a few Pixies and Fire Flies had taken refuge atop Apple's Green crown. He laughed and she kissed a Pixy.
The trees branches swayed in the wind, and seemed to beckon the weary travelers to rest below its lush’s leaves. They came to a long, tall wooden wall. At the distance, they spied a bright light. Apple stretched her glossy wings and took lift, over the wall. Link and Rumms watched as she disappeared over the edge. Rumms looked to Link, and winked at him. Moments later, his wings then stretched, too. And he took off, over the Wall to follow Apple.
Link grunted, and tugged at his belt. He started a jog, and then ran to the distance where the lights glow. He came to a large, metal gate, where two horse heads were carved, and the words "Lon Lon Ranch" were inscribed. He quickly remembered some milk he had a while ago, with the same company name.
"No kidding..." he whispered to himself.
The wooden doors swung open, to expose a smorgasbord of delightful cheer, laughter and Chorusing. People sitting at tables and counters, singing gleefully while swooping glasses of Lon Lon Milk.
Link smiled as he walked past dancing feet of women carrying refills of Milk. He began to laugh as he saw Apple and Rumms flirt with each other.
He spun a seat next to Apple, and sat as it slowed. Link leaned against the counter, when a woman approached him. Her hair was a burnt-red, and her eyes were round with happiness. She smiled full-heartedly at Link, and asked in a bouncy tone "What can I get y’all?"
Link blushed lightly, and said "Lon Lon Chocolate Milk"
"You got it!"
She danced to the bar, singing with the crowds at the table while music busted through the air.
Apple pinched Link's cheek while Rumms slapped his Shoulder.
"We're going to sleep here tonight." Rumms yelled to Link, over the music. A cold glass filled with frothy Chocolate Milk slammed onto the counter before Link, startling him. He smiled to the red-head girl while taking a sip of the drink. She leaned closer to him, over the counter.
"My name's Malon," She said to him, smiling.
"Nice to meet you, my name's Link."
"Likewise," she reached over and kissed him on the cheek. As she pulled away, Link blushed. She winked, and walked away.
