I'd hate to see it replaced by a language I'm unfamiliar with. Our borders provide a shield of protection and give this nation shape. I'd hate to see it disintigrate into nothingness. Our culture exhalts heroism, wholesome values, democracy, free enterprise, freedom of the press, free speech, and servitude, to name a few. I'd hate to see it poisoned and die. Illegal immigration disregards all three, therefore, it is indeed a veritable threat. Not to mention that illegal immigrants have provided a swelling of crime activity and drunk driving accidents (namely the bad side of Mexico) into our country. If we cannot even defend our nation's border, it will disappear. If foreigners don't respect our nation's border, it will disappear. When our border disappears, it won't be too long before our culture and language are quickly disassembled.

The American culture... it's not a defined culture because it borrows from so many and we have various subcultures.
Language... English is only the official language in a few places, but I don't mind immigrants who are learning English to use Spanish with other immigrants.
Borders. We have 2 defined boreders that nobody respects... those dirty Canadians and the South & Central Americans. America was just not built right. We want big, we get big. This country is massive yet it s overcrowding with 300 million. We could have probably have more than half a billion people here if we had more major cities and didn't want big things. Of course that causes other problems.
We have a limit, it has been passed, but denying legal people entry is not cool either. Our country is based upon the foundation from our immigrant ancestors. Illegals, not cool, but they want better lives too. They are not all criminals. Sure the crime rate has gone up, but it isn't just because of immigrants. You ever stop, look around you, and take in your environment, and realize immigrants are the only crappy people here, and that America is in decline.
This should belong in its own thread. Debates are fun.

I doubt that just because they are Mexican, they are criminals. The border has been crossed many times, and drugs have always been the same. I don't hate Mexicans. If I did, I wouldn't like Ruben. As a matter of fact, a number of my friends happen to BE Mexican-American. The facts are: they act like the border isn't there, that's disrespectful, they keep adding to the crime rates, many of them are pedophiles, they contribute more than 50% of all automobile accidents in the US, they've been getting away with it for far too long, so now I'm afraid we'll just have to resort to taking extreme measures in order to get them the hell out of a country that they do not own. Tell you what, you go and take 200 of your friends and try to immigrate illegally to Mexico. You won't get away with it, you'll be shot on sight. The borders are there for a reason AND YOU WILL RESPECT IT. I am not saying that all Mexicans are criminals. I'm saying that all illegal immigrants, be they Mexican or any other nationality, are criminals. They add to the crime rate by means of thievery, mugging, murder, rape, pedophilia, and drunk driving. I understand that they want a better life, but they're not going to find it here by breaking the law and scrubbing toilets for two bucks an hour. And YES, people here speak ENGLISH. Therefore, if one does not know English, the mother tongue of this country, they're going to be RIPPED OFF. Land owners cheat illegal immigrants by thinking they can pay them less than minimum wage. You think that spells success? You think that's your "better life"? Get real. A better life is living in peace, not breaking the law just to get what you want, and providing the most for your family that you possibly can muster. I don't have thoughts of killing illegals Columbine-style. If they must be executed to enforce an important rule that's been neglected for more than 40 plus years, then that's just the way it will have to go. If illegal immigration becomes punishable by any means other than deporting (Which is a slap on the wrist by the way), then THEY'LL STOP COMING INTO OUR COUNTRY. THEY WILL END UP HAVING TO RESPECT OUR BORDER. Even if it becomes punishable by death, they'll know that they've pushed America too far.

Besides, that, Hollywood and stupid celebrities are a definite problem with this country, but then again, they're not political figures, so they're not running the show. They're more of an annoyance than anything else, like the paperboy who throws the damn Sunday edition through your window.
Other cultures belong in other countries. THIS IS THE UNITED STATES. We have our own culture just as Mexico has its own culture, just as JApan, Korea, France, Britain, Australia, Brazil, Canada, Russia, China, Kuwait, and f'n Lithuania all have their own cultures. It's a fact. We were founded on the ideas of personal freedom, the right to say what we feel needs to be said, the right for citizens to be politically involved, traditional values, the sanctities of marriage and human life, the innocence and importance of children, the pursuit of happiness, the right to bear arms against those who would do us harm, and the PROTECTION OF THE PEOPLE. Remember, folks: the citizens are the republic, and the government is our servant. That's why we have the right to vote.
But then again, for some folks, ignorance is bliss.
If you really think God hates us, read the Bible. You know, ACTUALLY read it. You'll see. We brought this upon ourselves. It's human nature to be stupid, destructive, cowardly, and proud, but He calls for us to act outside our nature and be more than that, because we're the only living creatures who can. He made humans special from all of his other creations. Remember, it was Satan who desires us destroyed. He wants us all to die and to suffer because he grew jealous of humans--God loved humans more than he loved his angels, Lucifer felt. If God's love for us was strong enough to warrant jealous from his right-hand angel (Or now, his ex-right-hand angel), then that means He loves us all very much.
Translation is the most common excuse for slamming the Bible these days. Remember that current updates of the King James edition of the Bible have footnotes talking about what was originally written. Even then, it doesn't really change the idea of the passage.
Leviticus 18: 27--"Do not lie with a man as you would with a woman, that is detestable."
Romans 1:26-27--"Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones.
