I dont think it'll ever be possible for humans to travel at the speed of light. At least not before we become extinct.

well we could achieve the speed of light now. it would just take some time to get to that speed. When I say some time I mean years.

Hopefully we can actually reach this place before we screw this planet up even more. My teacher told us about this and we had the very first conversation where everyone in class tuned.

Trust me. When a volcano erupts, it spews more harmful chemicals into the atmosphere than mankind has ever produced since the early 1900s. We're still here. The earth is still here. We couldn't screw this planet, even if we tried. According to evolutionists, the earth has existed for billions of years (To Creationists like me, the Earth might not even be a thousand years old), even when mankind first got here. So, in short, Earth constantly heals itself using natural self-repair mechanics. If those didn't exist or were somehow destroyed (Which is scientifically impossible), THEN the Earth could possibly be destroyed. You know global warming? It's just a scare invented by political dinosaurs like Al Gore just to gain attention and fame. You know that back in the seventies, they warned of a New Ice Age that would occur during the late 90's. Hm. It isn't below zero outside, is it? Now, they're telling us that we're going to burn out in ten years, but I can't see that happening. Texas, where I live, has seen some of its coldest winters in the past three years. It even snowed on Christmas Eve back in 2004. Snow. In Texas. And they keep saying that we're all going to "burn up" in ten years? Oh dear, better turn on the AC! (Currently, Texas is also going through some of its coolest springtimes.) So all this crap about "Oh, we're gonna blow up our own planet!" is something out of a sci-fi horror film, like "An Inconvenient Truth." You want to keep the icecaps from melting? Tell Gore to shut the hell up.

yeah, but is it possible for a human to survive that speed? What do you think will stop us? There is not air resistance in space. When a volcano ..... Al Gore .... to big to quote The fact that volcanoes, rotting plants, the sea ect. have been pumping out CO2 for century's is pointless to mention, for centuries photosynthesis has counter acted these pressures and is stills counteracting it today, plants and bacteria with basic chloroplasts also counteract the CO2 given off in fuel burning hubs, (such as power plants). the factor of deforestation is more effecting CO2 levels in the atmosphere. Now I am not saying that we should continue to burn fuels for energy when there are much more cleaner options. the gasses given of can cause serious health risks and cause acid rain to fall, producing crops to die and great statues to wither. Al Gore is ignorant any link can be made to global temperature change.

Hopefully Pilgrim John is right. Even if it can heal itself it would be stupid to act the same as we do now just because the Earth can heal itself.
