Some people have stated that that news story is bogus, but I don't think so. Believe it or not, the Internet makes it easier for people to be unbelievably cruel--and not get caught. It becomes much easier for twisted Internet users to think of normal people as merely playthings. In the link, we saw what became of one victim--his girlfriend left him because of "ANONYMOUS" and their interference. Well considering how much that ex-anon resembles Alex Wuori, I believe it is true. But come-on some of the stuff the ppl do is funny, the habbo raids for instance, they are great fun. and the websites are hardly unknown, anyone who has lurked for more than two seconds has seen /b/.

As a victim of Internet cruelty myself, and on behalf of Internet cruelty victims everywhere, I do not think many things they do are very funny. You read my ED article, right? You saw how offensive they were. If they were really trying to make people laugh, being obnoxious doesn't count. Internet cruelty is fast, easy, selfish, and horrible; to consider it somehow funny is insincerity at its very worst.

I thought anonymous' job was to just take the piss out of everything. I didn't think that they'd *seriously* try and harm anyone. I will say some things they do push it too far, but some things they do.. I don't find so appalling (and believe me, they do lots of tasteless things).

I didn't say anything about cruelty, in fact that stuff is the least funny thing on the internet, its just picking on others misfortunes any idiot can do that.
