So Death Note is over with. 108 manga chapters. It was a good series, but it kinda surprised me. I won't spoil anything, but to tell ya the truth, I hated Light. Anyone want to discuss? If anyone wants to know what happens in the end just tell me and I'll give ya a message.

It'll be out here in like July. If Viz is good at anything, it's translating books lightning fast, in fact Del Rey is probably the only one that even tries to get their books out as fast. That's probably why a lot of their series are either stalled, or finished.
I really want to read Death Note, Right Stuf sells each book for six bucks a piece and they generally are pretty good with keeping books in stock so I should save up for them some time.

I really want to read Death Note, Right Stuf sells each book for six bucks a piece and they generally are pretty good with keeping books in stock so I should save up for them some time. There are 108 chapters a book. Volume 11 is out. Usually 7-8 chapters a book. Chances are that there will be about 16-17 books. I think it ended at the right time. Any longer and then people would start losing interest. I wonder what the manga-ka's next poject is going to be. They are done with Hikaru no Go I take it, since the dude went on to do DeathNote. EDIT: Oh yeah, btw, the anime is completed basically. The have the ending done. Just saw the animated version of the ending. Yep. Death Note is done with. Damn, I thought it would have a bit more time til the anime got completed. They must have made episodes weekly, instead of all at once, because the manga finished in May, and the last episode was made public a few days ago. |

Well, according to this page, this page, and this page, the series is only 12 volumes long. I'd imagine they'd put 9 chapters in a book, since 9 x 12 = 108.. :/ Oh, and on the subject of Hikaru no Go, yeah it's been done, they're still translating it though. It takes longer than normal since they serialize it in our Shonen Jump. |

Well I have just finished watching episode 37 now, and I think that is the last one. I have to say it is a great series, the small twist at the end that made Yagami's plan crumble was perfect, up until that point I really thought that it would have worked.

Death Note = win. I only saw the anime, but I never read manga anyway. That said, a friend of mine told me about the manga's ending, and I think it was better than the anime's. Either way, L is awesome and that's all that really matters.

Actually the endings are pretty much the same. Yeah, but the anime ending was more Light completely losing his mind as his plan crumbled. He still seemed logical in the manga ending, from my understanding. |
