Clarification... MY GameCube sucks! Aka, it's not reading disks anymore. It takes about 10-20 reboots for it to finally work. At first I thought it was just my RE4 disk 1 (which would have really made me mad) because RE4 disk 2 loaded, but now it's having trouble starting any game. This sucks, because I've had it since launch, and I don't want to get a new one. But if it's completely dead once Zelda releases, I'll have to...damn. I think my brother is the culprit. His GCN died last year from the same symptoms. And whenever we both get back from college and he plays my games (such as RE4 or Metroid Echoes), he likes to leave the GameCube on for days, sometimes up to a week, at a time. He'll leave it on pause, go to work, come home, play, pause, go to bed, go to work, come home, play, pause, go to bed, etc., without turning it off once. I just start turning it off whether his ass saves it or not. I can only assume he's always done that, which is why his Cube died and mine survived for longer, but I think mine has reached the same fate. Say it isn't so.

Yeah, it's not good to leave your GCN on pause all day... You might want to get your brother to stop doing that.

Maybe it didn't like your article Haha, it wouldn't be the first! But last fall when I spoke highly of the Cube, the Open/Close button started to stick...but I think I spilled a little coffee to prompt that. I think the Cube is ready for Killer 7, which should be here tomorrow. I might have to get another one if it doesn't want to work for Zelda. My patience only goes so far.

I think my old PS2 died from the same syndome. My brother would leave that thing on for HOURS, and I would turn it off regardless of whether he had saved or not. So, yeah. Were your GCN and my old PS2 seperated at birth?

Haha loser! Oh... I mean that's very unfortunate :< That might be what happened with my GC. My mom would sometimes never turn it off. And I would sometimes leave it on 10 hours straight (whether I was playing it or not). The problem has been happening to me more recently, with other games, but not with a permanent effect. Not the same symptoms, as your GC, but stil... If you have no idea what I'm talking about click here: rnforums.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=gamecube&action=display&thread=1121103956

Thing is, I own three. And one of them (Mr. Purple) is dead. The fact that I could not be separated from Mario Sunshine and Viewtiful Joe (I'd play them for hours) and that my three-year-old sis dumped milk into it (she opened it, then dumped the milk inside, where it died with a weird "flyeeeeeuuuuurp" noise). I think my black one (Which I gave to my sisters) is starting to act up, too. My dad has tools to fix the machine, so I'm not worried. At all.
AND FOR THE LAST TIME, CON SMITH OWNS YOU!!!

But it's my launch purple... We've been through a lot together, I don't think I could bear buying another one. For now, it's running Killer7 just fine.

My first GameCube did that about a two and a half years ago after a year of faithful service. I went back to Best Buy and exchanged it for a new one. (Thank you Extended Warranty!)
