Jap Mag V-JUMP revealed: final fantasy: guilty wing for the Gamecube!

Thanks to GCA Forum member Blablamax for the heads up.

After the announcement of a new Final Fantasy title for Nintendo GameCube, Japanese magazine V-Jump was able to dig up the first known details.

The game will be titled Final Fantasy: Guilty Wing and is planned as a GameCube exclusive. It is being developed by Game Designer's Studio and is said to follow the more traditional style of Final Fantasy games that most all fans have grown to love.

On another note, Final Fantasy: Guilty Wing takes "inspirations" from Final Fantasy 7-9, and Squall Leonheart from FF8 will be the main character.

Sadly, no other information is available, but you can be sure that GCAdvanced will deliver any new information.

On another note, the magazine also mentioned that Kingdom Hearts 2 will not be Play Station 2 exclusive and will be coming to GameCube at a later time (after PS2 release).

This news article on GameCube Advanced was updated with some bad news:

"It seems that the story has proven to be false according to Japanese sources. Apparently, the newest issue of V-Jump does not report on any new information regarding a Final Fantasy title for GameCube.

While this is a dissapointment to myself and to many others, I wouldn't count out the idea of a GameCube bound FF title showing up at this years E3."

Too bad. It sounded cool.
