Note: This thread was originally on the E3 2004 Board.
Denis Dyack is acting really odd. With news and rumors all around. Dennis (leader of SK) appeared at Konami's press confrence and said a few words. He remarked about Twin Snakes and said these odd words.
"..we are really looking forward to the future with Konami and the relationship with Nintendo."
Consitering that SK recently ended its 2nd party relationship with Nintendo, this is very odd. But before, he did say the relationship with Nintendo was very good. And some believe that Denis is the new director of the new Zelda. Here is a snippit from IGN.com:
Neither Shigeru Miyamoto nor Eiji Aonuma will be directing the Legend of Zelda title. Both serve as producers. A new, still-secret director will helm the project. Odd Indded. It puts Dennis first up because remember the "comment" he made about making a realisic Zelda. Then he said "I really shouldn't be talking about this...."
What could all this mean?

Hmm... I wouldn't be surprised if Denis Dyack was in charge of the new Zelda for GCN. But, what does Konami have to do with it? That part seems a little out of place, lol.

To make things clearer, heres a snippit from Gamespot:
Silicon Knights President Denis Dyack makes a suprise appearence at Konami's press event.
According to a poster on the IGN Boards who was present at Konami's press conference this morning, he reported that Denis Dyack was invited on the stage where he made some remarks about Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes.
However, it was what he said to close his comments that catched the eye, considering the current known situation with Nintendo and Silicon Knights, here is what the poster stated:
"I am watching the Konami Press Conference right now and Denis Dyack was invited on stage. For whatever reason, they were still talking about Twin Snakes. But the point is, Denis said in at the end, "..we are really looking forward to the future with Konami and the relationship with Nintendo." Don't know what it means, and I'm not gonna guess at it, but I thought it was interesting."
Strange comments indeed, considering we were told their relationship was at an end last month. I'm sure once whatever business dealings SK must take care of are final, more will be revealed.

Wow, that would be uber cool. It seems kinda out of place, though. I can't see Nintendo handing their flagship adventure series to a Canadian who just ended second party status... I guess we'll find out eventually, though.
