I hear that the Mario DDR game is going to have actual Mario-themed levels. How? You walk on the Left and Right sides of the dance pad to move Mario (or Luigi). Then, to jump, you'd have to press up on the dance pad. To enter a pipe, jump on top, and step on the Down side. The "boss battles" are the parts where Mario dances off against the bad guys. Interesting? Enough for me to want to preorder it. However, I've already preordered Zelda... and Castlevania DS... and Geist... and Shadow the Hedgehog. Nuts. Looks like I'll have to wait till 2006. Oh, and, uh, I read all this in Nintendo Power.

That's actually pretty cool. Do you know how many levels there will be (I don't have my new NP yet)?

Eh...I'll stick to standard DDR on my PS2, thanks. To be truthful, I don't like the Mario DDR at all. It's just Nintendo using Mario's name to sell. If it was just DDR with some unlockable Koji Kondo tracks in it, that'd be another story, but I don't really want to play an adventure game by actually jumping around.

Thing is, it's going to have both Koji Kondo classics with other Nintendo songs (like Mario and the Pokemon themes, I think); AND classic DDR songs. Apparently, you're underrating this game terribly, KY. The levels (Jason, I've no clue as to how many there are going to be, let's hope for lots!!) look like fun. This isn't DDR with Mario slapped on as an afterthought marketing scheme. This is pretty much a brand new look to how you play a Mario game. My question is this: Mario introduced the Control Stick (N64), the touch screen (DS), and now a Dance Pad as a way to move characters. So, besides Donkey Kong, he's the only game character who's even trying to reinvent games (Eyetoy: Sega Superstars is disqualified on the account of that it is retarded) and the way they are played. Why aren't Sony or Microsoft trying anything new?

Well, I haven't been following this game since I already have DDR for my PS2, and I don't really plan on getting another one until next gen. =/ EDIT: They need to emphathize the fact that there are classic DDR songs in there as well. I hadn't heard a thing about it from anywhere.

Seeing as I own the game..they do have mini games where you move either Mario or Luigi. There are five worlds and each have three to four levels each in side of these worlds.
If you've got any questions feel free to ask.

If you've got any questions feel free to ask. It's already out in Japan? Second question: Is there a character selection, or are you stuck with one character or another?
