Sources claim that Metroid Prime 2 Echoes' multiplayer mode may only be unlocked after you beat the entire single player campaign.
Here is a cliamed excert:
"...while it seems very solid the odd thing is that it's not readily available. Before you can experience this rather fun new addition to the franchise you must first beat the entire single player campaign, which isn't a big deal considering that is the meat of the game anyways".

I'm not surprised... Nintendo rewarded people with the original Metroid (NES) in the first Prime. They have to top that in MP2. However, I think it's kind of a dumb idea... One of MP2's main selling points has to be unlocked. How weird is that? :I

I think that's a great idea, really. The focus of the game is the single player mode. They don't want to market it as the Nintendo Halo.

I'm straight-up with JSR on this one. Why would you sell your game as having multiplayer, and then not have it available? Does Nintendo not know that there are actually people who won't be able to beat the game? What for them, they don't get to experience it? Or are they lowered to someone who has to use cheats? Personally, if this is a valid source and statement, I think it's a bad move. I just feel that if they are gonna advertise it so heavily as a main feature of the game, it shouldn't have to be unlocked. That's like having to beat Dynasty Mode on NCAA 2005 just to get Quickplay...it just wouldn't make sense...

lets just say some of us didn't beat Prime for the rewards, aka my friend letting me copy his data.
but that stinks,I don't like having to beat games to get stuff, because sometimes the games have a few frustrating levels(Yes,I'm looking at you Viewtiful Joe)

NNNNNOOOOOOOOO
i have to beat the whole single player mode?!?!?!
NNNNNOOOOOOOOO
one of the best things about a video game is the multiplayer (for me). when my friends visit, id rather play with them than for them to just watch me (or vise versa)
and another thing, i rarely beat any games. i just hope its as long as Zero Mission...
so when my friend comes over to see metroid, he would say "cool! i wanna play! doesnt this have multiplayer? lets battle!" then i would say "i have to beat the game first to unlock multiplayer..." then: "oh..."
