1.I have a therie about Dark Samus. I think that it is the metroid prime because if you get the best ending in MP1 you will see the pile of goop that was what was left of metroid prime with a hand coming out of it that looks like our fave bounty hunters hand.(no its not Capt. Falcon!)
2. Today I recieved the Dec. issue of nintendo power with the cover having my most antisipated game, Metroid Prime 2 :Echoes.in it there are news and hints about...
1.you shall fight robots. yes you don't need glasses,Robots!
2.Different areas such as, a technolochy advanced fortress(instead of rocks you will see computers and more things like that)and of corse the dark world
3.new weapons and suits such as the gravity boost(think of the gravity suit upgraded),light suit (in here is an inderect hint to what it might do Quote"and its not called that because it dosn't weigh much"unquote), and the aniolater beam.

Well, I never bothered getting the 100% ending, but yeah, I'd say they did that on purpose. That gives them a reason to add the "Metroid Prime" part to the title.
