And we all wonder about what it'll be like. But, what if it were a remake of the original Zelda from '87? Don't you think it'd be pretty cool? I say it'd be pretty cool, I wasn't very good at the old Zelda's, even if I did like them. I know, we need new games, but Nintendo proved they could bring oldies back with Metroid Zero Mission; Basically the same, but with a world revamp and weapons from other Metroid games. So, what if this Legend of Zelda be like this? Although I don't think having the Ocarina of Time, Wind Waker and Goron and Zora maskes would be too fun... It adds variety, but I think it's a little confusing. And what would make the Wind Waker useful if you aren't using a sailboat? Hmm....
Your thoughts?

Hmm... A Zelda remake is possible, but I don't think that this game will be a remake. In the new Zelda, Link is going to be able to fight while riding his horse. Link didn't even have a horse in the original Zelda.

It's a possibility, but I don't think it's going to happen.
I never want to see a Zelda remake. Zelda needs to always move forward in terms of gameplay, story, etc. Revisiting the past is nice, but it should stay in original form.
I'm excited on the story and backstory to this new game, though.

I absolutely agree with Absent Elements. Though the zelda games on NES were great for their time, I think any modern person would question a game where you walk into a cave and a guy gives you a sword for no reason. I want a zelda with improved gameplay features, art direction, sheer size, and a great story to go along with it.

You make a very good point, AE. Zelda is a series that needs to constantly evolve.

Bigger and better is the way to go. Remaking Resident Evil and Metal Gear Solid was cool mainly because N64-only owners, such as myself, missed out on the originals. I see no need to remake any Nintendo games, as most of us are long-time Nintendo fans.
True, the thought of playing something like Ocarina of Time with amazing graphics has always bounced around in my head, but the truth is, why settle for a remake when Nintendo can pump out something brand new, that's bigger and better than anything before.

I completely agree, Greg. I think that it's okay to make remakes if they're on a different system. But, it would be pointless to remake the original Ridge Racer, for example, on PS2, since most Playstation owners have played the PS1 version.

The Bleeding blades excite me most... LOL Well, I wouldn't expect too much gore in the new Zelda, if I were you. Zelda has never been a gory game.

LOL Well, I wouldn't expect too much gore in the new Zelda, if I were you. Zelda has never been a gory game. Maybe it might, cause right before the holiday season ended, 800,000 GCNs were sold, and I, along with many other Sega users, think that Resident Evil 4 is the case for this; so Mature games are probably what these people want. But there are plenty M-Rated games on the GameCube (MGS: Twin Snakes, Resident Evil 0 - Code Veronica, Dead to Rights, Mortal Kombat Deadly Alliance/Deception, etc etc), so why wait until now? Maybe this is the only reason to get a GCN, for RE4. Anyway, I think Nintendo understands that apparently people want gory games (which is stupid, cause blood doesn't really make a game any more fun than without it), and there's a possibility that this next Zelda might be a tad gory, maybe not blood pinatas like some games, but maybe just enough; sorta like Star Fox Adventures, blood is there but too little to notice normally.

I think Nintendo shouldn't sel outthe best game series ever, just because people today want M rated gore fests. Its sad that if it curses or has blood in it it will sell.

The Zelda series sells, pure and simple. It doesn't need blood and gore. If those things were added, though, the game would have a lot more sales.
I wouldn't leave Nintendo if they ruined the franchise like that, because it might actually be interesting to see. However, Zelda just isn't a series for blood and strong language.

Actually I did a search on gamespot and there only 36 rated M games for the 'Cube.
The new Zelda reminds me a lot of LotR.
