Tales and Paper Mario:TTYD are defiantely two of my more favourite gamecube games for RPG. All pokemon games since Ruby and Sapphire have only been a flop for me, and colloseum helped me back up that fact. But that's for me, I don't speak for anyone else. Skies of Arcadia hasn't come out to OZ yet.. looking forward to it though, I heard it was really good on the Dreamcast. Although an RPG I liked on the Gamecube was Lost Kingdoms I. I really enjoyed that, and I'm looking forward to getting II, when I have some money . But yes, there aren't many that are actually any good compared to the N64 and SNES. OZ? Never heard of that abbreviation. But yes, Skies of Arcadia Legends is definitely the best TRADITIONAL RPG on GCN you can find, but it doesn't help GCN's RPG lineup from getting smashed by PS2's lineup; Final Fantasy X, Kingdom Hearts 1 & 2, Xenosaga Episode 1: Der Wille Sur Macht & Xenosaga Episode 2: Jenseits von Gut und Bose, La Pucelle Tactics, and plenty more to name. Anyway, now that we've moved past the best RPG thus far, I'd like to ask this: What's the RPG for GCN coming out soon that you'd like? If you ask me, I'd want Virtua Quest (I hear it's an Action-oritented RPG). I want that one, despite critics' views (you know the SEGA in me is screaming for it ). It doesn't look half bad. And since Namco isn't pumping out another console RPG for GCN that we know of (they're busy with Sigma Star Saga, Xenosaga DS and Baten Kaitos DS), this might hit the spot. Seriously though, those reviews aren't really strong; PlayStation Monthly gave it a 3.0 out of 10. Out of 10! That's the worst score I've ever seen them give out. And Game Informer gave it a 5.5, and I think IGN gave it a 6.3. I'm probably going to ask for VQ for my birthday. But welcome, Proxy Blue. I hope you enjoy the forums.

Well, there's Fire Emblem and Advance Wars: Under Fire coming this Summer. Oh yeah, how could I forget about Fire Emblem? I'm sure the 'Cube version will rock. As for Advance Wars: Under Fire, the GCN version isn't a RPG. Instead, it's a real-time strategy game... It's a bit of a change for the Advance Wars series. But, AW:UF looks promising.

It's a bit of a change for the Advance Wars series. But, AW:UF looks promising. Oh, okay, let's cross AW:UF out. But, I hear rumors of there being a Pokemon Colloseum 2; according to a thread at SEGA, a new Strategy Guide for a GCN Pokemon game is in the works at Random House publishing, and it said Pokemon Colloseum 2 for July '05. Of course, that's just a rumor, and it could be Pokemon Stadium 3, but there's a possibility. But I won't get PC2; the game was too closed and not as adventurous as the Pokemon games are meant to be. I didn't like that you could only catch about 50 Pokemon, and the really cool Pokemon weren't open to you until you complete it. It was cool that some Pokemon were transferrable, but I was dissapointed overall. And apparently, Virtua Quest isn't fairing too well at all; Nintendo Power for March '05 came in, and The scores were: Alan: 2.5/5 Chris: 3.5/5 George: 3.5/5 Steve: 3.0/5 Steven: 3.0/5 They said that the platforming/fighting controls are a little flimsy, and the combat is pretty repetitive. If you can get past the flaws, you might enjoy the game. I can get past the controls, and I can get past the combat - if it isn't TOO repetitive. P.N. 03 had repetitive combat, but not enough to REALLY bother me, and all RPGs have repetitive combat if you ask me; you fight battles under the same conditions, and when you get a "One hit kills all" move, it can be repetitive to train. Hopefully, this won't be THAT bad; otherwise, that'd be a waste of 50% of what I'd have gotten for my birthday

I remember seeing some magazine scans of it a couple months ago. As for Virtua Quest, I'm a little disappointed that Sega screwed it up. When developers have something like the Virtua Fighter series on hand, they should use it to its full potential.

I thought Virtua Fighter was indeed a great game, Virtua Fighter 4 was definitely awesome. I heard that Yu Suzuki, who to me has done more revolutionary work than Miyamoto (not saying Miyamoto makes bad games, just that Suzuki has made games that revolutionized the genre. COMPLETELY.), was working on the game, and attempted to make it the Younger gamer's Shenmue. When he left, SEGA's AM2 team altered it. I will still play it, because I have decided to get it for my birthday, and since I'm a SEGA fanboy, I figure it's my duty to buy and make my opinion of their games, whether I like it or not. Then again, ripoffs always aren't as good as the thing they're ripping off, and in this case, it's Kingdom Hearts. I, again, will still try it.

I didn't know that, lol.

Virtua Quest is a rip-off of Kingdom Hearts? I didn't know that, lol. Well, not really, SEGA didn't aim for it to be a rip-off. And technically, it's not a 100% rip-off; only half. You know how Kingdom Hearts merged Disney flims with Square games? Well, this just takes SEGA's Virtua Fighter series and puts them as a major role here. There're no major movie companies that SEGA jumped at the chance to add to it. Anyway, even though it's not a complete rip, the idea is the same.

I thought you meant that Virtua Quest used the same battle system as Kingdom Hearts, or something like that.

Nah, both battle systems are fairly different; Kingdom Hearts uses RealTime, weapon and magic based battles. Virtua Quest uses RealTime, 100% Hand to Hand combat. Pretty noticable, considering the fact that it's based off of a fighting game. Anyway, you probably shouldn't judge a game until you play it. See how I will still play VQ after these, well, mediocre reviews? Well, I still do have faith, and this right now is the unbiased side of me talking. Have faith, that's what I do.

The GC version of Fire Emblem is following the path of the FE games they refused to bring over here because they were just too difficult. Expect a challenge. ;D

Jehuty, where did you read that the FE series was not brought over because of difficulty? I had assumed that it was because strategy games such as Advance Wars and Fire Emblem generally do not sell well in the US, but I would be glad to be proven wrong.

Yeah, I can tell you have a lot of of faith in VQ. Is it because it's a Sega game, Mr. Sega Fanboy?
