I finally got Star Fox: Assault and let me just say, it's awesome. I used to think Ratchet and Clank games were good until I found this. The controls are spot on, the characters are awesome, and the dialogue and story is surprisingly good. Fox is so much cooler than Ratchet. Who agrees?

Well, I've never played Ratchet & Clank, so I can't really say which one is better. But, I do like Star Fox: Assault a lot. It's a lot of fun, especially the addicting multiplayer mode. I would have liked to see more flying missions in the single-player mode, though. Also, welcome to the RN Forums, Ushooo7!

I don't know where Star Fox and Ratchet & Clank intersect. They're two entirely different genres. R&C is an action-platformer, Star Fox Assault is a space-shooter/ground-shooter. I'm in love with R&C though. It's the best platformer around this console generation. So even though the two really don't have any genre connection, Ratchet & Clank (all 3 of them) all the way.

I like Star Fox Assault and like JSR said it's multiplayer mode is the best! I play it everyday! It is way better than Ratchet and Clank. But the missions are sooo short!

okay, thank everyone for their input. This has been an experiment. I don't really mean any of the things I said in my first post. I believe that Ratchet is a way better game. I have each one and log in daily to the Insomniac Games Forums to write about them and other games on the PS2. The experiment was, well, to see if fans of Star Fox would immediately support it against Ratchet. I tried a similar thing on Insomniac Games Forums and got some saying that Star Fox is better. I will assasinate those few later, and yes, Ratchet is the best platformer series ever. Peace out.

Yeah, I probably should have waited but I couldn't take the anticipation. I couldn't let something I said that was un-true slide for that long. it was too painful!

I need to still try Ratchet & Clank, but I have to say that I thought Star Fox Assault's multiplayer and single player gave the old feel of the Star Fox games and also the ability to add it with the Star Fox Adventures feel. I was impressed with their abilty to create a game that could keep the original essence and also be able to add another level to the gameplay.

If you haven't played Ratchet and Clank yet, you need to do so. Start with the first, then get the second after that and I definitely advise you to get the 3rd, because of the awesome ONLINE PLAY!!!

Online play was a mistake, imo. They cut back on the single-player to make room for development of an online multi-player aspect. It really wasn't needed at all, considering Going Commando was 15 hours long. They cut that down to about 7 hours with Up Your Arsenal.
