Looks fun. I might get it. Any opinions?

I've never been one for baseball games. Why bother playing a game about a sport you could play with your friends in real life? But since Mario was included, I felt a little more optimistic; after all, he was the guy who made boring sports like golf and tennis look fun. However, I've played a demo of it, and I don't plan on buying it. The swing and pitch functions are good, but there needs to be something done about the rest of the game. It just feels so... plain. What, do we need to unleash Chainchomps in order to make it exciting? The only real reason you ought to get the game is for the minigames and the multiplayer.

I like Mario Superstar Baseball. It obviously isn't as fast-paced as Mario Tennis, but MSB does have some great batting and pitching mechanics. Plus, the game is full of Mario references. Unfortunately, the game's fielding isn't all that great. I don't know why, but I always have trouble when it comes to controlling who should catch a ball. But, fielding aside, MSB is a good game that can get pretty addicting.

Thanks. Now the panel will decide whether KoE should get the game or not.

It's a great game. It has some good mechanics, with good Nintendo references. People may say it doesn't have enough fields, but 6 very different fields are much better than about 30 all-of-the-sames. Excellent mini games, and Toy field is pretty cool, too.
Now for the bad stuff. First off: timed batting. You can charge up your hit, just like your pitching, and like pitching if you release at the right moment you get an excellent hit. Unfortunetly you have to calculate this and when the pitcher throws so it becomes too complicated, and you may notice in harder diffuculties the AI will knock the hell out of it. Challenge mode looks great, but you can blast through it within a short hour. You may not get your game's worth without a friend willing to play the game.
Bottom line: Get Mario Baseball if you like Nintendo and baseball. If multiplayer is a huge concern and you can't get a friend to play with you think the purchase over.
