I mean, why keep the GC if the Wii can play GC games? EXACTLY!!! why keep the game cube!!! I HATE THE GC, WHY WONT IT DIE ALREADY!!!! The wii can play gc, n64, snes, and nes games, so why even keep any of the nintendo consoles, when you have an all in freaking one!!!

It can't run N64/NES/SNES carts, it can only run the games inside them. Having a NES/SNES/N64 port on a console just doesn't seem practical, nor does it sound very cheap to produce.. hmm.

thats what i said, it can play older games from nintendo. You also have to have Internet connections in order to visit the Wii Shop Channel, then you also need to plunk down cash in order to buy (Or in some cases, re-buy) the game. It's good if you've never had the chance to play a certain golden oldie, or your old copy of the game doesn't work anymore. But other than that, the set-up's a tad complicated, at least for the computer age-inept like myself.

lol, the concept istn really that new though, microsoft has been doing it with the xbox for a while, and there is a service called GameTap where you can download old games onto your pc.

thats what i said, it can play older games from nintendo. And not every one of those NES/SNES/N64 games would get up on VC, the best probably would, but not all the unlicensed NES games or some of the more unknown games. That's why it'd make sense to keep them.

but you can still play most of the older games anyways, besides, i dont think that everyone is going to use the service. Nintendo will most likely add there best selling games from the past, and that is something you cannot complain about..

Honestly it doesn't matter to me that they put every old game in history on Virtual Console, but there are some people who'll say otherwise. I just want to see EarthBound and a translated Star Fox 2 on VC.
Let's just say you found out that the newest Windows had a feature that let you download all your old games for a lot cheaper, and you immediately sold every game you had to save space and because you were so sure that you'd see every game you had on the service. But then the lists are out, and for years from either a couple to a lot of your games weren't there. Wouldn't you want them back?

That's why it'd make sense to keep them. That isn't entirely true. Tecmo's Solomon's Key was released as a launch VC game, and before I looked it up on Wikipedia, I never even heard of that game, although I DID play its sequel, Fire & Ice. And, Smith and Panique... you guys really liked Donkey Kong 64? Go back and play it; it sucks some major ass now.
