GTA to hit GBA this autumn
[09/06/04 11:38] The looong-awaited pocket crime-fest is imminent at last
Rockstar have confirmed that the long-awaited GBA version of Grand Theft Auto will finally be released this autumn. However, in typically coy fashion, the company has yet to reveal any details about the game whatsoever.
We'd imagine that it's being coded by handheld specialists Rockstar Leeds - formerly Mobius Entertainment and the people behind the GBA version of Max Payne. As such, we wouldn't be surprised to see the game offer a Max Payne-style isometric viewpoint. We're expecting further details from Rockstar in the very near future - we'll keep you posted as soon as we hear anything.
Meanwhile, the same financial report that mentions the GBA version of GTA also confirms release dates for another pair of forthcoming Rockstar games. Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, the third instalment in the street racing series, will be released for PS2 and Xbox this Christmas, as will the PS2-only The Warriors, which is based on the classic 1979 gang movie of the same name.

This is partly news and partly rumors because no official statement from Rockstar has been posted

Interesting... I have a feeling that this GTA will be more like the first two than GTA III or Vice City.

Yes, but I have no idea why Nintendo would want GTA, they said they hated it, but well, everyone loves money

Yes, but I have no idea why Nintendo would want GTA, they said they hated it, but well, everyone loves money Nintendo never said that they hated it. In fact, Mr. Miyamoto once said he liked how open-ended it was (or something like that). The reason it's on GBA and not the 'Cube is because Rockstar didn't want to make it for GCN. Nintendo didn't push it away.
