According to Electronic gaming monthly, it's all downhill from here! Game Boy Advance system got a rating of "D-", so signs show that only the larger systems have todays vote! Is this generation of Game Boy Ending? When will the next one come? The micro is nothing special, so is this the finale for Game Boy?

There are still a bunch of licensed games coming from third-parties, plus some new GBA titles from Nintendo. So, while it is becoming more and more obvious that publishers are shifting their attention to DS and PSP, I think that there's still a market for GBA.

Yep nobody cares about the poor GBA. Honestly I don't either. No new games shoud be made for it, so all focus can go towards the DS and PSP. I mean would you rather play Mario Tennis on DS or GBA?

Granted, the DS has better graphics and gameplay abilities than the GBA, but that doesn't instantly make it a better system. To hit my mark harder, I'll use an example: there was a Mega Man game released on the DS that could have very easily been done on the GBA. The touch-screen abilities were mere after-thoughts (Therefore were unnecessary for the game), and the graphics were not as good as other 2D DS games. On a good note, though, there are still good games being released for the handheld GBA. Mega Man Zero 4, Rebelstar: Battle Tactics, Sigma Star Saga, Final Fantasy IV (Yes, it's being remade for GBA), and Donkey Kong Country 3 are among the 2005 GBA elite. You owe it to yourself to pick these games up. I do agree that there are a large number of games that are only possible on DS or PSP, but that doesn't mean we can instantly abandon why those two were made. The PSP was made to grind GBA into the dirt originally, then the DS was made as a countermeasure to the PSP. In the beginning, the GBA started this whole conflict.

If you want a real sleeper-hit for GBA this year, pick up Racing Gears Advance. Great fun, lots of challenge, interesting gameplay. Reminds me of that old arcade game from Namco...

Try eBay or Amazon. They usually have the hardest to find stuff.

That's what I thought. About one or two years ago, I was looking for a copy of Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness for the N64. I found one on Amazon for $15. Weeks later, I found a copy at EB Games for $8. Be careful. Better yet, be frugal.

I'll keep an eye on eBay and see if there are any really cheap copies of Racing Gears Advance. Better yet, I'll double-check that none of my local stores have it.

The last new games that it will have, if they even come out in America, are Final Fantasy V & Final Fantasy VI. Other than that, the GBA is dead. There aren't that many games coming out for it, and they are mostly just 3rd party. On the flip side however, it will probably mean that GBA games will be on clearence and will decline in value, so it will probably be more like this "more bang for your buck."
