well obviously the last line of the post above stops the argument in its tracks. but i am not sure about the 'more characters = more fun' bit do you have evidence e.g. reviews of games that have tons of characters to a game with very few.

Jump Superstars (DS) Characters: I can't remember how many there are... about 100 Super Smash Bros. Melee (GCN) Characters: 20- something Final Fantasy VI (SNES) Characters: 14 Sonic Heroes (GCN, PS2, Xbox) Characters: 12 Any Pokemon Game Characters: 200+ Proof enough?

not really. these games are mainly multiplayer games and of course they need to have a variety of characters. (Pokemon don't really count as in depth characters i mean yu-gi-oh has a large variety of cards but the game isn't exactly good.)

Besides that, you can play those other games by yourself if you want to, so they DO count. So THERE. Nyeh.
