Posting more often does make the place look more lived-in, but there's only so much we can talk about at a time. There's a ton of topics to go through in the meantime--current events in your personal life, making fun of Jack Thompson, Pokemon, motorcycles, etc.
Of course, this thread is about discussing more effective ways of keeping the board active. Like we've discussed, having the MODs visit more frequently would be a great start, perhaps even hiring new MODs. And of course, all of our regular customers--Lorris, Gray, Mephisto, etc.--should post more often or start new topics. (Come on, we can talk about a lot of things before you leave.)
Whether or not there's anyone else on at the time you're posting shouldn't bother you. After all, a message board is better than a chat room because you can send messages at any time you feel necessary. So go ahead and post!
Finally, advertising would be a great idea, but that would mean joining a different forum--preferably one that's big, like 1up.com--and making a big-ass banner that begs to be clicked by the curious. That would be a great way to attract newcomers--especially for attracting folks who are already experienced web-posters. (That's the major reason why we need folks from other message boards to join ours.)

Well only boring people can get bored. Have a bit of imagination. Seriously... nothing is happening here... why aren't you guys posting more frequently? Sorry... but umm... yeah... crud... Well I'm sorry that I'm a boring person. I started a few topics, and they're all dead now. I dont see the point in making more. And seriously, I've given up on the active staff memebr thing. I tried and tried, but nothing has changed. I dont give a crap anymore. I only come here and post hoping something has changed. But I might as well give up altogether. |

It's a bit useless to have a bunch of mods if this place is dead, right?
I mean you could have as many mods as you want, but it wouldn't bring this place back to life.
