I am asking because my forums at conforums have only five that you can rank up to. There is also a mod global mod and admin ranks that I can give to people but I want to know how many Ranks there are on Proboards.

There are five normal ranks at the moment. I could add more though. There's also the Mod, Global Mod and Admin ranks.

If you were to add more, would they be ranks (in which a certain number of posts are needed) or would they be positions (which you assign)?

Wow. I have an account with conforums and I can create custom groups but I can only give them to certain people. They can get the rank through posts.

I use to be on conforums, there is a HTML code you can add in the rank box to allow more ranks that you can rank up to, you can also change the icon from the star to whatever you want with this HTML |

on invisionfree you have have as many ranks as you want, the only problem is that they only have defult pips for 12 ranks, after that you have to upload your own pips, but you can have unlimited amount of ranks
