Well, i was thinking should RN Forums have a chat thread? It would attract a lot of members, and it wouldn't be like a spam thread, just to come and talk about something beside Nintendo (yes, i know theres a general board but still, just a thought)

Well, it's been tried before and it hasn't worked to well... First of all, the forums aren't active enough to have a chat thread. Second of all, the entire General Board is basically a chat thread.  |

Its not very active though (the chat thread) Most of the people there like to talk about nintendo better than chat! o.O |

Its not very active though (the chat thread) Most of the people there like to talk about nintendo better than chat! o.O Yeah, that's one of the reasons there isn't one here... There's an entire set of boards for Nintendo discussions. Why limit it to one thread? |

I think that's one of the good things about RN. We don't need a chat thread to simply boost our stats and stuff. We get plenty of discussion done elsewise on lot's of various topics. People don't worry about ranks (not as much as at NSider, anyways), so they don't need to keep "chatting" in just one post. If you look around, you'll see that there is little chit chat that goes on all over. Personally, I think a chat thread would defeat the whole purpose of these boards. Perhaps not defeat, but at least change. All the small discussions that already go on would basically move to that thread. Which, personally, I don't see a reason for. I agree, threads like Night Owls were fun, but I think this board is a different one than before, and is just a bit too small for that type of thread, since everyone already pretty much knows everyone else.
