Okay, now we all know 2005 will be the last full year for this batch of consoles. What are everyone's expectations for the next batch of consoles, including PS3 and Xbox 2?
The Xbox 2 will likely launch first, but I don't think it will be released in 2005, as everyone else in the gaming media seems to believe. It would be a disastrous move, after having a solid Christmas season in 2004. Even if it was backwards compatible with Xbox, people would feel they wasted their money.

I just hope thaat the "Revolution" (Nintendo) will be affordable, and innovative. Having AWESOME graphics would be a plus, but for me, they aren't as important as awesome gameplay. I heard on The Screen Savers today (re-run) that the X-Box 2 is going to cost around $300 stock, but "fully loaded" it is like $400. Thats USD too! I'm in Canada. Oh, and I do hope that Microsoft and Sony both change the name of their systems. I mean Common. PS3? XBOX2? Wtf?

I predict that the PS3 and XB2 will just be the same as the PS2 and XB, but better graphics.
I think the Revolution will have better graphics then the GCN, but something new like how the DS changed portables.

I agree with NN that the PS3 and Xbox 2 will be the same as the current consoles, but with better graphics.
I also agree with you, gamefreaks, that Xbox 2 won't be released this year. It would be a very stupid move on Microsoft's part, because it will alienate a lot of that recently bought Xboxes.
As for the Revolution, I'm really interested in seeing what exactly it is. In the latest EGM, Reggie made some comment about the Revolution building a strong sense of community (or something along those lines)... I wonder what exactly Nintendo has planned for it.

I really don't think that Sony and Microsoft are going to change a whole lot with their consoles. Their just going to add a greater graphics engine to them, not once thinking about ways to make gaming more fun like Nintendo does.
Nintendo does new things with their consoles, they have great ideas and dreams for the future. They don't stick to one idea even if it made them millions, they try to mix things up. Which is why I chose Nintendo over the others. Graphics are awesome but game play is even better. So if the 'Revolution' has the same graphics as GCN, I'll be happy as long as the games have better game play than GCN.

I hope people understand, it doesn't take two screens or the 'Nintendo' name to be innovative. Anyone can innovate, it just takes imagination. And I don't get what was so innovative about GameCube; just another console to wow people, like it did me. I believe all consoles of next gen will have something to interest me, but I really won't play guessing games as to what there is to expect. I'd rather just be suprised, and enjoy this generation while I still can
