Did You Know?
Nintendo Announces Four Major Games for May
E3 won't be the only major video game event in May. Nintendo has four highly anticipated games launching in May featuring a powerhouse franchise, hot new rhythms, out-of-body experiences and sacred stones.
May 1: Pokemon(R) Emerald for Game Boy(R) Advance SP offers a new, more challenging Battle Frontier where players will face a fierce new lineup of competitors that is certain to test the skills of even the best Pokemon Trainers. The game features compatibility with five previous Pokemon titles, and up to four players can battle wirelessly.
May 9: Donkey Konga(TM) 2 follows last year's Nintendo GameCube(TM) smash hit with a new selection of modern, bongo-bashing songs. Donkey Konga 2 has dozens more songs in every genre to help you find your groove.
May 23: Geist(TM) for Nintendo GameCube will help you scare people senseless. Wander as a ghost and possess people, animals and objects in your path to help you unravel the mystery of your condition and get back to your human form.
May 23: Fire Emblem(TM): The Sacred Stones for Game Boy Advance SP lets you take advantage of your strengths and exploit your enemy's weaknesses. The role-playing game features new character classes and epic battles.

Good for Geist, it's got a good release. So close to E3!

I doubt that Geist is really ready. If they launch in May, it'll just be a fraction of the potential it had.

Maybe you're right. But we just have to have faith! I might not want it, but I know some people do...

Pretty good news. It's nice to see that so many games are coming out around my birthday. I'll probably end up getting Donkey Konga 2, Geist and Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones. I doubt that Geist is really ready. If they launch in May, it'll just be a fraction of the potential it had. Well, n-Space has been working on Geist for a few years now. I think, while it might not live up to its full potential, it'll come very close.

Maybe you're right. But we just have to have faith! I might not want it, but I know some people do... Have faith? I had faith for years, and where did that get me? It got me to a console that didn't have Devil May Cry, Final Fantasy, or Metal Gear Solid, three of my favorite franchises. Nintendo hasn't been making the right decisions in the past ten years, and next generation is when we're really going to see that. When PS3 and Xbox 2 smash the Revolution to pieces, THEN Nintendo will see the error of their ways. By then, though, it will be too late. I'm not saying that's going to happen, but it wouldn't surprise me. Well, n-Space has been working on Geist for a few years now. I think, while it might not live up to its full potential, it'll come very close. Exactly. They've been working on this game for years, since around when the GCN first came out, and last year's playable demo at E3 was clunky. It was still clunky after that many years of development. It's obvious that n-Space works slowly on its games, and I just don't think they'll have it done by May.

I don't see how that makes it a 'Big May' for Nintendo. You have a Pokemon game (God, when do they end?), Donkey Konga 2 (a game that will require the kongas that no one owns), and Geist, which will likely not meet the expectations that Nintendo has set through their hype of the game. I have a bone to pick with Nintendo's adamance on games that require peripherals, be it Four Swords, Crystal Chronicles, or Donkey Konga. Not a 'Big May' at all in my book.

Uh.....Donkey Konga's drums COME with the game, I don't see what there is not to like. Donkey Konga is one of the greatest multiplayer games of this generation, can't wait for 2 and 3 (hoping the song selection is a bit better).

That's not what I mean. Donkey Konga 2 is like an expansion pack. It won't come with the drums. So for those of us that don't own the first, Donkey Konga 2 is useless. (' ')

True, if DK2 doesn't supply the kongas, those who didn't get it will be unable to play the FUN way (you can use a controller, but from what people say, it ain't nearly as fun). But maybe Donkey Kong Jungle Beat will supply a special "Kongas included" package.

But maybe Donkey Kong Jungle Beat will supply a special "Kongas included" package. Jungle Beat will be released with two different packages. One comes with the DK Bongos and costs between $55-60, while the stand-alone game is $40.
