New Pokemon Information (New franchise involved!)

Korokoro manga magazine revealed today that a new game in the Pokémon series, called Pokémon Ranger, will be released sometime in 2006. No other information, such as system, was available.

In other news, more information about Pokémon Diamond/Pearl was revealed from Korokoro. These two Nintendo DS games will be compatible with the GBA titles, and will allow you to transport your pokémon from the GBA games to the DS games. Specific new pokémon types weren't described exactly, but it was said there would be "lots" of new pokémon as well as the introduction of various new types from the different Pokémon movies.

Pokémon Diamond/Pearl are to be set in a completely different universe than previous Pokémon titles. They are said to take full advantage of all the abilities of the DS, including 16-player wireless multiplayer. The games are scheduled for a simultaneous release sometime next year in Japan.

I'm eager to see more about Pokemon Ranger, and sixteen player wireless multiplay is definitely a nice addition, if a little confusing.

Yeah, 16-player battles will be awesome. I wonder if it'll be online...

As for Pokmeon Ranger, I've heard that it's just the name of the new movie. Maybe the fact that it's a game or movie is a mistranslation?

It's a new movie. It's the 9th movie to be released in Japan in 2006.

Good god... I REALLY REALLY hope it's not turned based. If it is then the battles could be over 2 hours long.

I wouldn't know.. I do know that the "Wave Guiding Hero" one does have D/P version Pokemon in it, like Rukario, Munchlax, and Bonsley (Sudowoodo's pre-evo).

The only info about this one is, that it's a movie, and the release date.. well... year.

Ah, I see. I guess it is a little too early to tell how much of a tie-in Pokemon Ranger will be.
