Hi everyone,
I was just curious as to what consoles you're all hoping to get in the next-generation. I'm personally looking forward to the Revolution and X-Box 360 (I'm planning on getting one by Christmas). I've NEVER been a Sony fan, so I probably wouldn't bother to get a PS3.

I say neither depending on how good their pricing of the games and consoles are and how many good games they have that fit my taste.

The PS3 will have DMC 4 and MGS 4, so I'm looking forward to it. Nintendo's continual secrecy about the Revolution and announcements of features being REMOVED (see you some other day, HD) have really killed my interest enough to put them on equal ground. I'll still get both, but Nintendo still doesn't have me riveted or anything.

I'm looking forward to Nintendo Revolution. I grew up on Nintendo, and with the Revolution I can play the games I played when I was a kid.

Absent Elements, I know what you mean. I've come very close to losing interest in the Revolution, but the fact that it's a Nintendo console is keeping my hype alive. Like BRO_co03, I've grown up with Nintendo (I literally killed a goomba at 3) and I'd never find myself not owning the current system/console.
As for the 360, I've been tempted to get the current X-box for a long time but never actually bought one. With the new system coming out shortly, I think I'll finally make my move. Plus, some of the games that are going to be released look amazing, especially RE5 <3.

Go ahead and call me a fanboy, but I only buy Nintendo systems. So, the only next-gen system I plan on getting is Revolution.

Well I'm planning on getting Xbox 360and Revoloution.
It was never a question about revoloution as I'm a ninty fanboy but between 360 and PS3 I chose 360 as it apeals to me more even if I can't put my finger on it.

It really depends. If MGS 4 gets a "substance" like port on the 360, then I will be getting that. If not, I will probably be picking up the ps3 for the FF titles and MGS series. First and foremost though, I will get a revolution.

Rev and 360. Only way I'll get a PS3 is if MGS4 does not go multiplatform, and I've never really liked RPGs, so haha @ FF fans.

Writer Steve Kent (aka, "most Biased Fool": Indian name) has stated that Nintendo isn't listening to consumers. Quote: "Nintendo's flaw is that they aren't listening. And with the release of the DS, they aren't listening now." Sure, they weren't listening then. They weren't listening when they released the first Advance Wars, they didn't listen with Super Smash Bros. Melee, and they completely ignored us with Kirby Canvas Curse. Personally, I don't give a dooz about whether or not Nintendo listens to me; I know my place, and my place is to enjoy fun games. Nintendo knows how to make them work, they know how to make them fun, whether or not they listen to me. If they LISTENED, they'd have games equal to Halo and SOCOM, both of which are simply smorgasboards of cliches of their respective genres. Thusly, Revolution all the way.

zer0, you know...I never thought about it that way. All this time, I've been complaining about Nintendo not listening, but I guess I never stopped to think about what I was really complaining about.

Steven Kent is about the most un-biased and informed game journalists you will find working for a major news network. Though I disagree with his DS stance, he is a very good writer and most of the time is very fair towards Nintendo.

Though I disagree with his DS stance, he is a very good writer and most of the time is very fair towards Nintendo. Kent is also quite ardent against the Gamecube's lineup of games, including Mario Sunshine and Starfox Assault. I don't understand why; both were fantastic games. Assault's only problem was that Fox couldn't turn 180 degrees while on foot and the on-foot sections weren't any more complicated than "wipe out the red dots!" I don't see his reasons for openly criticizing Nintendo, especially the DS. Hasn't he played Advance Wars, Mario DS, Wario Ware Touched!, Nintendogs, or Feel the Magic? Or, why isn't he excited about the prospect of the next handheld Castlevania, Sonic the Hedgehog, Viewtiful Joe, and that remake of Resident Evil? He doesn't make much sense to me, but it's okay if you think he's fair.

Starfox Assault, though I never played it, was met with mediocre reviews by most of the gaming community. As far as Super Mario Sunshine goes, he attacked Nintendo more than the actual game for trying to keep its "innovative gameplay mechanic" secret. When everyone found out it was just a water pack, I think the majority of people just shook their heads at Nintendo.
