Posted September 2, here's an article regarding the difficulty factor of video games today and how it effects the gamer's fun factor when playing games. Enjoy. www.tomshardware.com/game/20050902/index.htmlI do enjoy simple games, myself, but at the same time, I love the challenges that push me to my limits.

As long as a game is fun, the difficulty (or lack of) doesn't really bother me. Luigi's Mansion, for example, was a pretty easy game. But thanks to it being so fun, I liked it a lot... even though I can beat it with relative ease.

Hmmm I think games might be getting easier but I don't really care much. That guy goes on about the savepoints making it easier but he forgets it also makes it longer.
Now I am not sure if you agree with me on this but I would rather have a long game which will last me and I have a good chance of completing, that one which is more challenging and never see's how it ends.

Not for me.. mainly because of the fact that I have Carpal-Tunnel Syndrome... and so I have issues with coordination and speed now.. so games aren't really easy for me anymore. <_<

Games have been getting shorter and easier this generation. I think it's a good thing, actually, because when you get a game like Devil May Cry 3 that gives you a swift kick to the nuts with its difficulty, you appreciate having to work your way to the end more. If every game was that hard, it wouldn't mean as much when yet another hard game came out. You appreciate difficulty more this way.

Wow, that's like, one of the most profound things I've heards you say, Elements; next to the award-winning retort, "Dan > yu0." (Seriously, I laughed my head off at that one) But, in my opinion, you're right. I've been jumping between Majora's Mask and Resident Evil 4 (PS2 version is going to suck, end of story BTW). Majora's Mask is my alltime favorite Zelda (Bite me, Ocarina of Time lovers!), but it only had one evil, sinister glare: It's easy. I've beaten it 4 times. I just attempted Resident Evil 4's Professional mode, and barely made it through the first part where you have to survive The Village of Chainsaws and Crazy People (My name for it, not Capcom's). Also, Jason is right, too. I don't mind if games are easy or hard, as long as they prove to be fun, fun, FUN! Fun is always more important than difficulty, no matter what the situation. Are you getting your butt kicked in Devil May Cry 3? Who cares! Is it fun anyway? Of course!
