Hey, I've been wanting to get in on the act of the Mario Tennis games, but I don't know. I've heard that Power Tennis isn't as good as Tennis 64. But, I also don't want to get the sequel first because it might diminish my enjoyment of the first if I were to buy that afterwards. So the question is, which should I get first: Power Tennis on the Cube, or Tennis 64 on the N64?

Mario Tennis 64 is much more traditional tennis game. Yes, you play as Mario and the gang, but there aren't any crazy Power Shots, themed courts, etc. So if you want a normal tennis experience, Tennis 64 is probably the game to get. But if you want a crazy, off of the wall tennis game that screams "Mario", I think you'll like Power Tennis. The only problem with Power Tennis is that the Power Shots are cinematics that last a few seconds... They kind of disrupt the flow of the game.

I just picked up Mario Tennis 64 today. I'll get Power Tennis sometime next year. Right now, this game is so much fun.

No, because I don't have that many N64 controllers, and one is broken. The other one is squeaky, and unreliable (The control stick is rather weak). The only one I use to play is a yellow one I picked up from EB. So until I get a handful of new N64 controllers, I'm stuck with the Yellow.

As soon as you get some new controllers, though, you need to play multiplayer. It rocks.
