www.nintendojo.com/infocus/view_item.php?1135356771Pokemon License To Move In-House 12/23/2005, 11:52am Eastern Time 4Kids Entertainment, currently responsible for the distribution of the Pokemon television series, as well as other aspects of the property in the US, says it will let its license expire at the end of the year. Any licensing of the Pokemon brand will now be handled directly by Pokemon USA, Inc, which is a subsidiary of the Pokemon Co. of Japan. According to 4Kids, the decision to take the license under in-house management was made by Pokemon USA. 4Kids Entertainment will continue to receive commissions from their use of the Pokemon license, which they have had since 1998, over the next several years, though they expect revenue to decline over time. 4Kids will also continue to produce the eighth season of the Pokemon TV series. While this change could affect the way that Pokemon merchandise, such as figurines or trading-card games, are sold, it is unlikely any major shift will be seen in plans for future Pokemon-based video games, such as the upcoming Pokemon Trozei for the DS, as those are published directly by Nintendo. (adr) Source: Yahoo! News ------------------------------------ NG: Looks like the people who hate 4kids with a passion for butchering all their Anime series has finally got their wish.

Not like it'll matter, because Kids' WB ends its entire run to never return this coming fall.
There's always Cartoon Network, or the dreaded 'Nintendo World Exclusive' label. X.X

This is like waking up to find that Michael Jackson has finally been put in jail for child molesting. What 4kids did to Pokemon... was just wrong.

I'm dissapointed of what they did to Sonic X, editing out curse words is okay with me, but they removed a lot of stuff that would've made it awesome, instead of just watchable.
But after I read about what SEGA did, I'm a little less angry at them and more at the Service Games people. X.X

Well, after Deem Bristow (the original voice of Eggman) died, as opposed to just hiring the Sonic X Eggman (Mike Pollock, who volunteered himself), SEGA took most of the Sonic X cast and placed them in their game counterpart's roles, without even informing the other actors. They found out because Ryan Drummond called wanting to know when he was supposed to come to the offices and record, they told him the news. Some moves are good (Tails, cause he sounded REALLY childish after the original went through puberty, and Eggman, cause a replacement is natural when your old one dies), and others are kinda meh (Sonic and Shadow are voiced by the same person. I HATE that ).

Does this mean that the Pokemon cartoon won't suck?

4Kids Entertainment might've bogged the cartoon down, but only time will tell just how much damage they did themselves.
