I went on a shopping spree of Handhelds at Best Buy last night with my gift cards. Man, I spend a lot on handhelds. I got: Game Boy Micro --Great system, even if you have a DS or SP. It looks nice, but I wish the ammonite faceplate came with the black one. Pokemon LeafGreen --Traditional Pokemon games/Stadium 1-2 = Ownage. Nuff said. Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories --The first GTA game I've really bought for myself. The dialouge in this game is hilarious, and the graphics are amazing. Comments, Questions, Death Threats?

Congrats on the Game Boy Micro purchase. I picked one up right after X-mas and have not regretted it at all. Great for playing in between classes . I have more or less given up on the Pokemon franchise, though when one of them releases on DS I will probably give it a final chance. It's cool you like LCS, I am glad you are happy with your purchases ;D

You bought a GTA? *equips Donald Trump Mask* You're FIRED! GTA: LCS is a pretty good game. GTA isn't really all about violence like most people think, its just a big satire game on mobster movies. It's cool you like LCS, I am glad you are happy with your purchases ;D Yeah, that's one thing I love about the4 GBM, great for between classes and the like because it's a lot smaller than any of Nintendo's handhelds, so it fits comfortably in the pocket. ;D As for Pokemon, FR/LG are basically remakes of R/B/G/Y with a new arcipelago (sp?) of islands that have G/S/C Pokemon on them. Great nostalgic value, at least.

Of course GTA isn't about violence; it's about repetitive gameplay that's been done three years ago, a boring story we've seen in hundreds of other games and movies, and making another sequel next year to make Rockstar even more obscenely rich than they already are. And sex scandals. And Rockstar laughing all the way to the bank because people are stupid enough to let them get away with it. ---- As far as the GB Micro, though, it's cool ya likes it. Personally, I'm never getting one.

Personally, I'm never getting one. It wouldn't be too hard to be at least a little more open minded about it, and calling people stupid for buying it is definitely uncalled for. I personally bought two of the three released for ps2. Sure they are a little overrated, but they are still good games and definitely worth buying if you're into it.

Congrats on getting a Micro, Kaze. Which faceplate did you decide to use?

Justin, I never called him stupid. I just used the awesome power of firing people. YOUR accusation is uncalled for. Therefore, @ you. I tried being open-minded for GTA, because in a way, many games have to rely on violence to deliver good gameplay. I played it over that whole "go anywhere, do anything" concept, but then I found out it really wasn't innovative as promised. Why? This "open" world thing has been around since the first Zelda on NES. Also, when I said repetitive, I meant it. The whole "go anywhere, do anything" shtick wears awfully thin when the only other thing to do than the dull story mode is random chaos. Trust me, that gets old fast. And the fact that almost nothing changed with the next three after GTA 3 is just silly. Swimming and voice acting for the main character should have been there from the second or third one. The whole "life sim" end of San Andreas was a pointless add-on that Rockstar tapered on the game in a pathetic attempt to make it different from the first few. All in all, GTA = not fun. If you've played one, you've pretty much played 'em all.

Congrats on getting a Micro, Kaze. Which faceplate did you decide to use? I have a black one, so decided to use the plain silver one. What I don't get is why the black and ammonite plates don't come with black.

You would think that Nintendo would stick a black faceplate with a black Micro... Well, at least the black faceplate is available at the Nintendo.com Store.

I couldn't agree more with the sheer awesomeness of handheld gaming, But I don't intent to get either the PSP or the Game Boy micro until I find them for cheap. The micro, for me would only be for collectible purposes. I already have both an SP and a DS, there is no reason for me to dump another $100 on another GBA, especially when you cannot play GB/C games on it. As far as the PSP is concerned, If it wasn't for Me and My Katamari, there wouldn't be a single game on it or announced that I'm interested in, and $250 is just too much to blow for one game, no matter how much I love Katamari. On the other hand I absolutely love my DS, the only problem I have with it is that there are so many games out on it that I want and a bunch coming out soon that I cannot afford the time or money to get them all. Not to mention the GBA games are are garnering my attention (FFIV and Tales of Phantasia).

What about Tokobot, DarkStalkers Chronicles, Mega Man, and that new Ghouls n' Ghosts? Those are good too... But not nearly as awesome as most DS titles. It's the Dreamcast of the handheld world, except it isn't ignored.
