Im not suggesting by any means that there are not drug references in the book, because there clearly are (though the Caterpillar smokes Hookah as I remember, not opium (could be wrong tho)). I am just saying that to say Lewis Caroll thought of Alice in Wonderland is an overstatement that would be very hard to prove. I think he was a creative writer and a good storyteller, and tho drugs might have given him some of the particular ideas in the story, I think the concept and overall plot were derived from his imagination. People think up craaaazy things without drugs. Just look at Mario. Total agreement here, Richard. Alice in Wonderland was as creative as... as... well, it was just creative. I loved it. Both the book and the movie. The true story here though is that Caroll made up this story about his niece Alice, for his niece Alice.
