Indeed, Super Monkey Ball = SEGA crack. I hope Traveller's Tales doesn't screw up SMB Adventure though. Yeah, Super Monkey Ball is an awesome game. I still don't understand why Sega decided to make SMB Adventure, though. Monkey Ball is fine as is. Why should Sega mess with success? At least Super Monkey Ball purists like me have Banana Blitz to look forward to on Wii.

Super Monkey Ball Adventure might just be the Sonic R of SMB games...
Perhaps Touch and Roll is in order.

Not really. The game looked liek it could be interesting, but if you read reviews and stuff you might pass.

But I gotta wonder why people get all upset over developers changing things about their games. It's going to have the core gameplay of rolling around, what's it going to hurt? I'm actually a tad excited over the possibilities of SMB Adventure.

I'm actually a tad excited over the possibilities of SMB Adventure. I don't mind if developers try new things, but a lot of the time, the new ideas don't work out. Super Monkey Ball, for example, is just a monkey rolling in a ball. It's simple, arcade-style fun. Why does Sega need to stick Aiai and co. in a platformer when they could simply create a new IP?

Super Monkey Ball, for example, is just a monkey rolling in a ball. It's simple, arcade-style fun. Why does Sega need to stick Aiai and co. in a platformer when they could simply create a new IP? As true as that sounds, imagine if Nintendo went that way of thinking with Mario: "It's just some dude jumping around, why should we change anything?" Mario 2 was way different from one, and Mario 3 was different from the first two, etc. This way, it makes you appreciate each and every game in the series. If a company just slaps add-ons to their IPs, well, it's the same as popping caps into the prequel's skull. Just look at what EA does with Madden. But yeah, your statement is true TO A POINT. RockStar tried adding more to GTA, but the added content, while vast, was mostly unnecessary. Why did they add basketball, dating, and dieting into a game about high-stakes crime? It doesn't make any sense to me. However, Sega isn't like RockStar, so I can expect some interesting things from Monkey Ball Adventure. If it isn't good, well, you'll know where I'll be.
