they never do, that is the point. if everyone knew that it was a fake price, then i wouldnt have said anything about them using this observation stragedy. And i used Ubisoft as an example because they are both game Publishers, no difference other then the fact that Sony is much more massive then Ubisoft. BIG FREAKING Difference. Sony will only make money off of their First party games. 3rd party games don't mean anything. They are a stand lone pretty much. They make their own money. Sony uses them so people buy their systems. The prices are only analysis, but I wanna bet you that they will be at least $500 for the 60gb, if not $600 for it. You know what happened to Microsoft? Nothing. They made no money and lost no money with the Xbox. They made enough money from the games to break even and that was it. Hell, if the PS3 is going to be $500 & $600, I will buy a Wii & a Xbox360.

ummmm.......yeah, that is my point. But every company tries to beat their competition, which is what Sony, microsoft, and Nintendo are trying to do. That is why they call this the Console wars. and if you are talking about both the wii and the xbox 360 costing in total as much as the ps3, then you must be refering to the xbox 360 core package, which is a total rip off. (you can get the hard drive, wireless controllers, xbox live gold, headset, eithernet cable, and other accesories, for only $99 more, the hard drive its self is $100 if you buy it) besides, i have already decided that i am going to get the Wii once it comes out.

Actually AS, you can get a Wii and a premium 360 for as much as a premium PS3. The core ps3 is much like the core 360 in my opinion--not worth it. The wifi alone is worth it, not to mention an extra 40 gigs of HD space.

No. Premium Package $400. If the PS3 is $600... but then again, I guess I would rather just get a Wii and a bunch of the games.

it depends how much the Wii is going to cost. and you are right about that, but i dont care about the hdd space, 20 gigs is enough. when i got my ps2, it came with nothing, and i was happy. but the thing that killed me is the fact that i will not come standard with wifi.

Wait, what?! No backwards compatibility to the first two PlsyStations? Now it definitely isn't worth 600 bones.

The 600 dollar one WILL be, Pilgrim, but the 500 dollar one wont. Thats not to say that they wont enable a system where PS1/PS2 games could be saved on the HDD, but with the 500 dollar one there definately wont be any memory card transfers.

No they aren't... they are saying "hey you poor people, but a Wii. it is less expensive.. poor people get Nintendo (and so do good gamers)"
