www.nintendojo.com/infocus/view_item.php?1151214090Ken Kutaragi No Longer Matters 6/25/2006, 1:41am Eastern Time CNNMoney.com has released their annual list of "People Who Matter", and noticeably missing was longtime regular, Ken Kutaragi President and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment. He was instead placed on the sites other list, "People Who Don't Matter", a compilation of the drop-outs from previous years success stories. "We found ourselves discarding name after name of people whose power had peaked, whose influence had waned, or whose true importance we felt was overstated," says the article, "as respected as they might be for their past achievements, their best days are behind them." Chief amongst the reasons listed is the PS3 launch and the company’s focus on integrating Blu-Ray into their game plan. "The PlayStation 3, which was supposed to put Blu-Ray into millions of living rooms, is months late and hundreds of dollars more expensive than competing consoles from Microsoft and Nintendo - largely because it includes one-of-a-kind technologies like Blu-Ray," it states. Indeed, Sony's new media format has been a constant point of ridicule for the company, and the exclusion of Kutaragi from CNNMoney.com's list further presses the risk involved. Other names on the list include Steve Ballmer, the CEO of Microsoft, and Linus Torvalds, the creator of the Linux system. Kutaragi HURTS Sony more than he helps w/ his cocky attitude. At the same time, I could say the same about Peter Moore for Microsoft.
