So yeah, Ninja Gaiden owns my balls. Being the stubborn man I am, I refuse to switch to easy and have been playing it through on Normal. I've played hard games before, but man, this game just kicks you in the teeth over and over. Maybe I just suck at it or something.
Either way, I've died many times and I'm only on the sixth mission. Anyone else played it before?

I'm worse. I was on Normal and it has been like 2 years and I still can't get past Level 2.

Well, I don't know about Ninja Gaiden. I do not own an Xbox, though I'll be getting a 360 soon, hope the game is included on its backwards-compatibility... But if it's difficult videogame encounters we're talking about here, may I suggest that the first boss on the second disc of Baten Kaitos Origins (Which is a kickass game, by the way: better than the original by far) is THE MOST F*CKING DIFFICULT BOSS I'VE EVER FOUGHT. It's harder than most final bosses in other games. Ganondorf and Kefka would probably have a hard time with her! It took me thirteen attempts to kill it. By the way, I remind you that this boss fight takes place almost automatically after you insert Disc 2. So you can't save. You don't go through some big dungeon and level up so you can kill the boss at the end. The f*cker comes at you with a motor up its nose. It has annoying baby birds that heal its life by 1300 HP (And it just keeps producing them more and more after you kill them), it has an attack that knocks all your characters down AND deals almost 700 damage to each party member... Guh, the only way I COULD kill it was by equipping Lightning weaponry and using Special Attacks that focused on damaging the entire enemy party. (I could kill both the chicks at once, then focus my deeply-convicted rage on the mother bird.) Even then, it took me almost an hour on my thirteenth attempt before it finally came down.

Ninja Gaiden and Ninja Gaiden Black (the one I'm playing) are both backwards compatible. It's the only game I have for my 360 so far. I've just been playing that and Hexic HD.
As for the second level, yeah, it's pretty hard. I didn't have many problems with the game until I got to the friggin horses in that level. I swear it took me an hour to finally get past that part.

TRY doing CHEAP moves Haha, I've never been big on complex combos or anything. I mainly just got for a four-X combo, throwing in Y occasionally. I like doing the charge attacks when I have the space, they look cool.

there was this attack where you run up the wall and then jump down and hit everyone, if you keep doing that, you can get out of some very tought situations

The attack where you jump towards an enemy and hit Y is useful too. Even if it doesn't hit, it sends you flying past the enemy a relatively safe distance.
