It came out this week! Anyone excited? I am! I just sent my money off with my Dad and he shall return with a copy this afternoon. Maybe I'll even go on Wi-Fi.
What about you?

I'm not sure about this game. Saw it at the store, but I didn't have the money, and I'm not a big Star Fox fan.

Yesh, I've spent a little bit of time in the game last night. It seems good, but there is one little thing I wish I could change: the controls. The controls aren't bad, no, they're alright, it's just that they aren't as good as analog control. See, you use the touch screen to control Fox. Moving the stylus up or down navigates, tapping twice and then holding the stylus down in the bottom half breaks, and doing the same in the top half boosts. Sliding it back and forth in either direction will let you barrel roll, and lastly there are buttons you touch at the bottom of the screen to let you somersault or U-turn. Then every button on the DS besides the Start and Select buttons shoot. It's not as bad as it sounds, but d-pad control being optional would be nice, Nintendo. Overall it's good, but just be prepared to adjust to a new control scheme, and a rather nice challenge.

I'm debating whether to subscribe to Gamefly or not. I just did a free trial and while it was good for the most part, the shipping was rather slow for only living 2 hours away from their warehouse. Netflix was much better about that. If I do, though, Starfox Command will be one of the first titles I rent (along with Deep Labyrinth).

I picked up Star Fox Command the day it came out and I love it. But then again, that shouldn't be very surprising since I'm a big Star Fox fan. Seriously though, I was a little worried about the stylus controls before the game came out. But now that I've spent close to a week with it, I think they're fine. Sure, they're not perfect (ex: I try to boost and end up doing a barrel roll), but they're not nearly as bad as I thought they might be. The game's Wi-Fi mode is also good, but it feels a bit tacked on... There seem to be no real options. Everyone flies the same ship (in different colors, though) and there are only five levels to battle in, which are chosen at random. It's still fun and quite addicting, but it feels like a bit of an afterthought.

Maybe... lots of NSiders think of it as the second-best Star Fox (behind SF64), and it works once you've mastered the new controls. Do try before you buy though.

I have a subscription to gamefly, and I live on the other side of the country. It's really good, allthough it usually takes 5-7 days to get here, taking into accoutn sundays, probably less. The games I've received have all worked s far, and I get to try games I'm not sure about and decide whether to buy it, or just beat the rental.

I pissed my pant-a-loons when I finally bought the game. And those NSiders are right: this is definitely the second-best Starfox game, second only to the greatest entry in the series: Starfox 64. Actually, it plays much like the never-released Starfox 2 for SNES, except with touch controls. The whole "strategy" end, I mean. I love it, it's awesome, and I really don't miss the on-rails levels of previous games. Why? Because, if I wanted that, I'd just go and play Starfox 64 again. No pointing in trying to outdo or redo what you pulled off perfectly. What I really appreciate in Command is how Nintendo made it "different", yet still held true to the roots of the first couple of games. This is what a revolution looks like, people. It worked for the Mario games, and it's working now. And the story is just awesome... I especially like how Nintendo finally broke tradition and reused their "forgotten" characters Katt Monroe and Bulldog Squadron Leader Bill Grey. The new characters Dash Bowman, Lucy Hare, and Amanda were some great ideas at work. They prove themselves very well, in my opinion; especially Amanda, who is Slippy's fiancee (Yes, Hell has frozen over). [glow=red,2,300] SPOILERS[/glow]Oh, and Krystal joining Star Wolf after Fox dumped her was a surprising twist... [glow=red,2,300] SPOILERS[/glow] And the music... just awesome. Star Wolf's theme is one of my alltime favorite game tunes, so its inclusion would automatically catch my attention. Amanda's theme is annoying, though. T.t So yeah, all in all, Starfox Command is the best Starfox since the 64 game. But of course, the naysayers are many. They register lame complaints , like "It's not like the Starfox I grew up with" or "the storyline sounds like a bad fan fiction." Don't listen to them. They're just unhappy because it's NOT THE SAME THING over and over again. Starfox Command is one of the best DS games to date. And THAT is a fact.

Well, she will, depending on what ending you get. During the cutscenes, you're given options on what you'd like to do next. Depending on what decisions you make, different things might happen: some awesome things, or sometimes, even horrible things. But either way you slice it, each of the endings is interesting its own individual way--which of course inspires the player to find all 9 of them! Oh and by the way: WOLF IS PLAYABLE! He's one of my favorite antiheroes of all time. ;D

Whee, I'm not the only one! I'm stuck on the last mission though, only because I can't reach the missile coming from the top right corner of the screen. ;_;

Whee, I'm not the only one! I'm stuck on the last mission though, only because I can't reach the missile coming from the top right corner of the screen. ;_; I've already gotten a few of the endings. Here's a tip: the first thing you might want to do is just have your units stick close to the Great Fox at first, then expand a bit each turn. That means, move you ships in circles to attract enemy fire, take them down, and move forward. But as for missiles, your best bet is to sic someone with a charge shot on it, like Fox or Falco.

I beat it this morning. Actually, I used Slippy, because of his twin lasers I found it easier to destroy the missile.
Yeah, I'm playing through it again using my NP issue to get the second ending. I know what happens in it, but I wanna accomplish it myself because Marcus is so cute <3
