As RN reported earlier, SEGA has announced that it's going to make a surprise game for the DS. What do you guys think it'll be? Personally, I'm hoping for the true sequel to NiGHTS Into Dreams.
Discuss.

Maybe Love and Berry's getting a US release date..? Or maybe Sonic Rush is getting a sequel? I don't know. But now that Naka's left the building, I don't think NiGHTs getting a sequel..

Maybe it could be NiGHTs itself.

But Naka technically does not own NiGHTS, Sega does. Because of this, a NiGHTS sequel is actually more likely than you'd think. Or, like Gray said, it could be the same game from '96, but they might add touch controls.

He's always said that he wanted to wait for that project, so as to make it the best it could be (there're plenty of Sonic fans who loathe the games post-1999, in some instances I am one of them). Now that he's gone I don't know. It could either be a curse, or a blessing. But I'd honestly prefer a NEW IP to a remake of an OLD one, no matter how poorly recieved the latter was commercially.

I've heard that Sonic and the Secret Rings is one of the best Sonic games since Sonic Adventure... that was a long time ago.

The secret game announcement came straight from Sega's Japanese offices. So I'm sure it's something bigger than Love and Berry being localized.

I've heard that Sonic and the Secret Rings is one of the best Sonic games since Sonic Adventure... that was a long time ago. The people who say that haven't played played Sonic Rush or the Advance series, I bet. The only way for Sonic-haters to truly bash the series is to ignore any and all of the good post-1999 Sonic games (Namely, most of the handheld titles). Therefore, the people who are saying that Secret Rings is the best Sonic game since 1999 are only living in the arrogance of their own ignorance. Also, I don't consider anyone who openly bashes the series based on the recent games to be fans. Either they're still fans and still respect the series, or they aren't fans anymore. I, for one, liked the Adventure games, Heroes, Shadow, Sonic Riders, and the Next-Gen Sonic--although they were each imperfect, they were still playable and fun. But, that doesn't change that Secret Rings is the best Sonic game to be put on a console, period. It's also the hardest Sonic game to be put on a console, period, even harder than Sonic & Knuckles and Sonic Riders combined... I mean it. No Sonic game has ever made me curse more times in fifteen minutes than Secret Rings.

I have all the Advance games, and Rush, and I like them. Plenty of those fans agree Sonic's still 'alive' on handhelds, and although I have never experienced those glitches or whatever that everyone has issues with, I still do agree that the console games have been on a decline. I've yet to play the Wii installment, but it'll probably be just okay at its worst.

D'oh, we're getting off-topic! ...Hey, wait. I just got a crazy idea. What if their big announcement is that Sonic will be featured as a playable character in SSBBrawl? *checks first post* Oh, wait... It was for DS... Huh. OK, I also think it might be that they're developing a Nintendo-licensed game, like they did with F-Zero GX on the Cube.
