So... with the upcoming release of D/P here soon... I'm just curious as to what starter you will first pick. As for me, Turtwig. I've always wanted an ankylosaur Pokemon, and Turtwig becomes a turtle/ankylosaur hybrid later on. What is your first choice? Also, it doesn't matter if you get both games. Unless you happen to have 2 DS's, you can only start one game up at a time. No bypassing! *evil*

It's been a while since I took a break playing Pokemon years ago.
For me, I choose you! Piplup! The water Pokemon. ^_^

I reckon the penguin guy.
Piplup... that's it. Well, the game isn't out yet but I'm sure I'll be choosing that. The 2nd evolution looks pretty cool.

Well here's news for ya: this time the grass type starter (Turtwig) won't learn Sleep Powder. www.serebii.net/pokedex-dp/387.shtml(Sorry Shiva for using Serebii Net again... but I still like it!)

Compare that crappyness, to this: veekun.com/dex/pokemon/turtwig Much better in terms of layouts, colors, and a heck of alot more information. Also, don't be advertising serebii.net in my threads. D< Have a bit of respect. Mmk?

Okay, it's a lot more detailed, but personally i find the serebii net layout easier to look. But like I always say, everyone has different preferences. And sorry, I didn't mean to advertise it, I just wanted to show Lorris info about Turtwig. Anyway, IMO the 3 starters of D/P are not so "cool" as the other 3 generations. I don't like the look of Infernape, Torterra looks alright but I never liked Grass type pokemon. Offensive stats are always really, really important for me and none of them have any stats that excel that much. But Empoleon looks cool and has decent Sp. Attack stat as well as both the defense stats. Also I like Steel type pokemon, so that's why I'll be choosing Piplup.

I actually had a hard time choosing my Pearl starter. None of them really stood out as "must-haves" to me. Eventually, though, I went with Piplup.

None of the Pokemon are really must-haves with the ease of trading now. :/

Weeeee. My copy finally came in... yesterday. I picked the money dude. At this point, I cannot remember Poke'mon names besides the original 150 or 151. The creatures themselves don't really stand-out anymore and seem semi-unoriginal, but the game is still pretty fun to play. ^^
