For Christmas, i got the Xbox 360, and a bunch of other crap also, like shirts and such, but we don't really care about that stuff, when we have beautiful gaming consoles, now do we!
As you can guess, i also got The Elder Scrolls: Oblivion for my 360, and man, can i tell you, its the BIGGEST DAMN GAME IVE EVER PLAYED!!!
First off, this game has over 300 hours of game play, and is impossible to complete in a week, or even a month! In Oblivion, you can join guilds that focus on specific things, like the Fighters Guild, where you fight, or the Mages Guild, where you practice magic and use it to get higher ranks by going on quests and such. If you feel like you want to be a bad ass, you join the Dark Brotherhood, where killing is their specialty, or the Thieves Guild, where you steal stuff. The list goes ON AND ON!!!
The main story is almost a push over, and only really takes about 10 hours or so, at least for me it did. But the quests that you do are not at all repetitive. The first thing that you do in the main story is break yourself out of a prison, going thru complex tunnels and caverns, until you see the bright, hot sun outside. The last mission was so exciting, and worth it, that i was now sad that i had to finish the game before i could play it again!
The graphics are mind blowing! When your standing in the middle of a forest before a storm, you can hear the wind blowing thru the trees, and also hear the thunder, and then it starts to rain.
One major problem with the game however, is that the Xbox 360 isn't powerful enough to run the game to its full potential, where the 360 will fully load about 50 yards or so of see able terrain, and out of that, trees are blurry, the grass isn't there, just green land, and even further away from that, mountains are bare looking, when they are supposed to have trees on them, and so forth.
In conclusion, i feel that if you have a xbox 360, or a capable computer, then you should with out a doubt, buy this game!
