The Godfather:Blackhand edition Announced for WiiThe other versions were very well received and the interview over at IGN with the developer makes it sounds like they are really excited to work with the Wii and are having fun with the controls. In addition it seems they aren't just giving us a ps2 graphics port, and if their production values are anything like Madden on the Wii, owners of Nintendo's next-gen console can look forward to a solid GTA style game for their system based on one of the most popular movies ever.

I'd rather there be zero GTA-style games on the Wii, but third-party support and an M-rated game look like that may be what the Wii needs right now. Not desperately need, but just might need.

There is always No More Heroes from Suda 51. I also anticipate third party support is definately coming once devs see just how well the Wii is selling.

Oh, so that's its whole name, No More Heroes? I'll bet it'll be interesting... Killer7 was interesting, but the gameplay wasn't really all that fun.

It's nice to see EA putting so much effort into its Wii support. I was expecting quick and dirty ports, but between Madden, SSX Blur, and hopefully The Godfather, EA seems to be taking full advantage of the system's abilities.

You don't have to buy the game. Just like I don't have to buy Barbie's Horse Adventure for the Xbox. Ya know. Haha, not like it is going to hurt the system's rep, and you are not forced to buy it. Besides, The Godfather is one of the best movies of all time: - acting - storywriting - historical accuracy is high - memorable lines and scenes

It's just that I'm not comfortable knowing that a game or genre I dislike is on a system. Call it childish if you will, but I STILL can't believe that Evolution Worlds was on Gamecube. *shiver*

I can realize what you're saying, but that's not for us to decide, John. That's the developer's decision alone to decide where to bring their franchises(including 'M' rated GTA style games) to which consoles that they will make money on[as long as they are carefully responsible for the content they put in(unlike the 'hot coffee' incident) and as long as the ESRB is rating them fairly and correctly for parents to see]. And third-party support(which is great for Wii at this point) and one single M-rated game is 'still' not enough to broaden and diversify part of the Wii game library for audiences who likes 'all' M-rated games. It will take much more that that to get the job done. Why? You don't have to buy the game. Just like I don't have to buy Barbie's Horse Adventure for the Xbox. Ya know. Haha, not like it is going to hurt the system's rep, and you are not forced to buy it. Well, this isn't the 90's: The time when Nintendo of America used their censorship policies during the NES/SNES era. This is the new Millennium. This is 2007. Things change.
I'm going to side Gray on this one about his opinion about 'not being forced to buy a game you don't like'. It is 'your' decision alone, after all, to buy what games you want based on your tastes.
Though, I will admit EW[while having decent voice acting(unlike the DC versions) and characters], has terrible dungeon exploring battles which made it a bit stale. Still, it's an okay RPG despite it's flaws. ^_^ I haven't beaten, Skies of Arcadia Legends, either.
As for Godfather for Wii: Nice to know more info about it.

The reason why I dislike the GTA game style is not because of the content. It's the gameplay itself--that's why I mentioned Evolution Worlds, my number one Worst RPG of All Time. A little after GTA came out, thousands of GTA clones surfaced, not a single one of them very imaginative. As a matter of fact, GTA itself has grown unbearably boring, with San Andreas sinking to newer lows in the content department, while at the same time not bringing anything actually new to the table. In the words of Atsushi Inaba (Creator of the innovative Viewtiful Joe), "Isn't it about time we moved away from this GTA and start doing something else?" I'm glad that the Wii is getting M-rated support, but in the end, it's not the content that will decide whether or not a game is any good.

But still you have to agree that GTA style games sell like hot-cakes.
