So I bought Wii play w/ the controller and played it at a friend's house. Now all I need is a Wii... it should be against trade regulations to sell bundles and not have just the plain system. I really don't want to pay $200 more for crap I don't want.

Yeah, I've heard of those "bundles." They're really just annoying ploys meant to sell crappy games no one wants to play (Simply because they wouldn't be able to sell them otherwise). Sure, it's nice to get a bunch of extra games, but what if we don't want the games they offer? If they're gonna do a bundle deal, why not include some of that console's best-sellers? I inquired about (I think it was) Target's Xbox 360 deals, and their bundle included games like Fusion Frenzy 2 and Bomberman Act Zero. Blech. No way I'm gonna get THOSE games. So, stick to the game stores. There, you can just buy the system and not the crappy games that other chain stores would push on you just to make a few extra sales. EDIT: Oh, btw, here's my review of Wii Play. rnforums.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=rreviews&action=display&thread=1173305661&page=1

My Animal crossing came with a free memory card, and you can hardly call that a crap game. Apart from that though you are right.

Ah, but you see, unlike Wii Play, Animal Crossing was absolutely captivating. Plus, Nintendo knew that AC would take up a lot of space on the ol' Memory Card, so including a free one was a definite must.

Also you need even more space if you want to play the NES games.

Game stores are the worse about bundles though...

Game stores are the worse about bundles though... Not really. I bought some systems from gamestores like Game Crazy or GameStop, and they never pushed anything on ME.

I have to EBs, a GameStop and two Game Crazys, none of them force a bundle. I think what you're experiencing is just from the online stores. I've asked them before if they honor the prices and specials their websites run and the brick and mortar stores don't. I assume the bundles are simply a way of forcing people in your situation to buy games that you don't want since the system is so limited. If you had the option of going to Game Crazy and buying it, GameStop.com wouldn't be doing it. =P
